Do we trust this account? This would bug me less than a deal that involves Peraza...

But you said any team. You think the A's should insist on Volpe for Montas? That would be a non-starter.That's my point.
not trust but more directionally accurate typically than any other non-check accountsDo we trust this account? This would bug me less than a deal that involves Peraza...

But isn’t that why they didn’t land Castillo? Yankees won’t overpay and they shouldn’t.That's my point.
Like a strike throwing Adam Ottavino. The guys peripherals are pretty insane - 0.4 hr, 2.3 bb, and 10.2 k per 9?More tasty Effross clips.

FWIW, it's the same account that was all over the Yankees signing Correa in the springDo we trust this account? This would bug me less than a deal that involves Peraza...

I see. So probably just throwing darts and getting lucky sometimes.FWIW, it's the same account that was all over the Yankees signing Correa in the spring

Looks like he was almost dead on:I see. So probably just throwing darts and getting lucky sometimes.
From an outsider’s perspective, I didn’t think Montas would ever bag a prospect like Pereza.Goddamn NY traded a lot of pitching, but WE STILL HAVE PERAZA!!!!
All reports had him as the lead prospect, and even more so after Castillo brought back Marte. From an outsider’s perspective, I didn’t think Montas would ever bag a prospect like Pereza.
Oh, I understand that was the buzz. I just didn’t see the Yankees parting with a player like Peraza to get Montas because the Yankees are smart. Ie, I didn’t buy those reports as reflective of the Yankees’ evaluation of Montas and Peraza. All reports had him as the lead prospect, and even more so after Castillo brought back Marte.
Gallo has to be gone, and they have too many pitchers for roster spots, I think. As far as moves left to make, who do we think is on the way out? Gallo? German?
They traded Justus Sheffield for Paxton a few years ago, he was pretty highly ranked at the time.Do the Yankees ever trade anyone from their top 3? I’d assume Cashman starts every call with I want your player but don’t play games you’re not getting my top 3.
Under control through 2024 and supposedly has good underlying metrics.OK, I think I can deal with that trade.
Trivino stinks, but maybe Blake can fix him quickly.
They traded seven pitchers in these three deals, just one low-level position player. Fill 'em up, Matt!I think the idea there is that Matt Blake and crew are so good at developing guys that they can trade a bunch of their AA/AAA SP prospects now and Blake will hopefully just keep the assembly line churning behind them. Will Warren as a 2021 8th round pick and already in AA and crushing is the blueprint, NY can put a lot of money into scouting and they know the kind of raw talent they can best work with.
Yeah, looking at it now he has a high strikeout rate and a decent FIP.Under control through 2024 and supposedly has good underlying metrics.
Prescient.Every year I watch as the Yankees manage to get a star at the deadline without having to give up their top prospect. If I am any team trading to NY I ask for Volpe and don't budge.
Teams will budge.
I mean, Waldichuk and Medina are both in the top 60 on the Fangraphs list, and Sears has been great in both AAA and MLB, with full control. A team's top prospect is meaningless in a vacuum.Prescient.
Rizzo is signed through next season, and I'm sure you know that, so I'm assuming you meant someone else? Carpenter? Here is the bottom line: NY now has an entire pitching staff under control through 2023 at least, and they have not had to move any of their position player prospects. They are lined up very nicely to pay Judge and Rizzo this winter.
What would he help them do? His WAR is 1.3, 0.7, -0.3, 1.3 over the past 4 seasons, partially because he's hurt all the time. He might hit 2 WAR this year, and he turns 33 at the end of this season. Not sure what a rebuilding team would see in thatDoes Hicks have any value to Washington in a potential Soto trade? Just thinking about a MLB player at a low(er) yearly cost.
Player option. He's going to turn it down unless he goes 0 for the rest of the yearRizzo is signed through next season, and I'm sure you know that, so I'm assuming you meant someone else? Carpenter?
Fair points, all. What would he help them do? His WAR is 1.3, 0.7, -0.3, 1.3 over the past 4 seasons, partially because he's hurt all the time. He might hit 2 WAR this year, and he turns 33 at the end of this season. Not sure what a rebuilding team would see in that
Thanks. I knew something wasn't right. Should have realized it was on my end.Player option. He's going to turn it down unless he goes 0 for the rest of the year
Yeah, as was said, he has an opt-out. Hopefully Cashman can just extend him through 2024, so 2/32 after this season.Rizzo is signed through next season, and I'm sure you know that, so I'm assuming you meant someone else? Carpenter?
NY isn't making a Soto trade this deadline.Does Hicks have any value to Washington in a potential Soto trade? Just thinking about a MLB player at a low(er) yearly cost.
