Pap could be hitting his in the Trop in front of a smilier audience.

Get it ASAP. You never know.Papelbon's Poutine said:If he doesn't do it in this home stand, I hope he plays sparingly or bunts a lot. I want him to do it at home and I'm sure he wants to as well. Maybe work on switch hitting for a week and a half.

Might as well synch it up with something not totally cliched.nothumb said:
as if they wouldn't just sync it up with O'Brien's radio call as soon as possible.

We’re all day-to-day, that’s a lifelong condition, and that’s understood.
Yesterday, David Ortiz issued a two-sided reminder of just how day-to-day he is with the Red Sox.
In the first inning, he clouted home run No. 497 in his career, No. 200 at Fenway, No. 31 on the season and No. 5 in his last nine games — he is striking fear in the hearts of all pitching staffs once again.
And by the fifth inning, his day was over.
He had to be taken out of the game because he felt tightness in the calf. Nobody knows exactly how it happened, only that it was bad enough for the Red Sox to turn to Allen Craig to take over.
Anyone over the age of 40 understands that you can sprain an ankle just pulling up your socks some days.
Ortiz turns 40 in November.

Indeed. Only MLB ballpark I've been to that was worse was the KingDomeAl Zarilla said:Papi hits #500 there, and then get everybody out of there and blow it up.

Picked up 3 tickets for Sat 26th , front row Loge (157) for less than face last night on stubhub. There were plenty of tickets less than face on itSavin Hillbilly said:

Tonight's shot for some reason felt especially reminiscent of Papi's pre-2007 heyday. Something in the easy, almost arrogant energy of the swing and the majestic trajectory to the CF bleachers. That was a true classic Large Father Bomb.
After being stuck on 498, Ortiz homered twice off Moore to reach the milestone mark.

I assume MLB will post a "must C" video with the radio callAndrew said:Yeah, seriously Edes? It's like the writers wanted him to be stuck just shy so they could write a few of those easy "it's a mental game" pieces about it. Ortiz wasn't stuck at all, he has been on a tear for several months. He was "stuck" on 499 for all of one at-bat.
Anyone have the radio call? I was watching NESN to hear Orsillo's.
Heh. 500 video is on MLB.com but that one for some reason is the 499.
