I was so looking forward to visiting Allegiant Stadium when the Pats traveled out west last year but a family obligation scrapped those plans.....but how lucky are we to get a do-over the following season?

Booked flight today and checking out hotel offers later. Didn't know if any SoSHers went last year or if anyone had plans this year but as the premier road game of the season I'd imagine some are. Who is heading out next month?

My wife and I flew out to LV for the Pats-Raiders last December, and it was phenomenal (last few minutes of the game excluded). We (and a couple of friends) were all super impressed with Allegiant Stadium, and were happy to see a fairly high volume of fans in Pats gear, inside and outside the stadium. Seats were great - a bit elevated, but close to the 50, and great views of the entire field. We were in Sec 413 - Row 4 - Seats 1-4.

Fast forward a few months....Several weeks before the '23-24 NFL schedule came out, we bought tickets to see U2 at the Sphere in Vegas for Sat - Oct 14, which coincides nicely with a certain football team visiting the area. We're going to do our level best to score a couple of tickets for Sunday the 15th...!

Bump.

Thanks for info. I've been holding off on buying game tickets with each loss anticipating less of a demand. Plenty of seats available near the 50 in the 300 level so getting excited. I'd like to get to the Sphere but not sure spending $1500 for the two of us to see Bono can be justified when neither of us are U2 fanatics. Maybe on an impulse so who knows. This is a quick 3-day trip so will be flying by our pants.

One thing I am doing is planning to take Mrs. HRB to Top of the World at The Stratosphere and arrange to be seated in the same seats as where I proposed 7 years ago. I've still got a little game left.

Anytime. I grabbed two seats at Allegiant, same row as last year (opposite end) for around $350 each (including fees). Our monetary commitment to U2 tix is around $400 a piece, so I can live with that. Swing by and I'll buy you and Mrs. HRB a beer or whatever you're into! I'll be in a Slater 18 jersey, and Denise in McCourty 32.

Enjoy the Stratosphere. Great story, and I'd say you have a lotta game left...

My dad's in town from Boston next weekend & I'd probably take him... except it's my wife's dad's memorial at the same time.

Enjoy the game!

We are in 313, Row 11, 9-10. Same tix that were 350 a week ago I nabbed for 250 apiece...I'll take the win even though I should probably have waited another couple days. I'll have my Brady jersey on bc I've invested enough in this years version. I'll try and find you. Ended up getting tix to the 7pm Sphere Experience before taking the red eye back.

Sorry to hear that. Enjoy the Dad time anyway.

Would love to hear what you think about the Sphere. Was just in Vegas last month before it opened but it looks very cool from the outside, want to see if we should consider it for our annual trip next year.

I will be flying into Vegas on 10/15, so I don't think I will be able to make the game (this was re-scheduled trip so I didn't even check the NFL schedule). Maybe next time. I will be in Vegas for most of the week, which is a nice consolation.

Just thought this would be a nice place to mention that flights to Europe are weaving in and out of “record low” territory and in many gorgeous cities (Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Krakow, Budapest) a decent hotel can be had for $60-$120/night.

I’ve seen round trip tickets from Boston and New York to some of these cities for under $500.

Why mention that?

With the Patriots being an embarrassment, I thought I’d throw out a “this could be a good year to treat your wife/husband” suggestion to those spending a premium to travel domestically to see this team score 3 points.

If you’ve never experienced one, Christmas markets in Europe sure are beautiful. :)

Pats just can’t catch a break on the injury front - especially the OL. They’d be lucky to get to double digits.
Honest question - what will there be more of, sacks and interceptions (of Mac and co) or points scored (by the Patriots)?

All these OLs out, then Miami and Buffalo upcoming?
We could be looking at 1-7.
Hope so. Shooting for ‘92 all over again

That sent me down a rabbit hole of looking at every first rounder they’ve had. 93-96 were just awesome years where T. Glenn was the “worst” of them. The bad? Before this year with Gonzo, NE hadn’t had a good 1st round pick since 2012. Yeesh

41.5 per Vegas. Or are you asking specifically about the Pats? It's an under 20 for me, dawg.
We haven't hit 21 yet this season but the Raiders allow a ton of underneath stuff which plays into Mac's game. We should move the ball ok in the middle of the field with Ryland's leg being the difference with 6 FG. We take out the Raiders 18-17. LFG!! I'm wearing the shaded glasses for this one!

Pats have scored 55 points through 5 games, worst in the whole league. Only 53 by the offense. Even the 2 teams who have only played 4 games have scored more points. The offense has also allowed 4 TD for 29 points. ON net the offense is a +24 through 5 games, absolutely pathetic. They have to be in the running for one of the worsdt offenses ever, don't they?

Pats defense has not been quite as bad. Pats are 8th in the league in points allowed at 131, but, again, 29 of those points came on offense. 102 points allowed through 5 games is sort of middle of the pack.

Of course, their defense has not forced turnovers, only 2 so far, one each in weeks 1 and 2. While the offense has been a turnover machine, turning it over 10 times.

Yuck.

Defense has also been on the field a ton especially during the blowouts.

That can cut different ways. The Pats have made a habit of falling behind big early. That's only partly on the offense and can't necessarily be blamed on being left on the field. (Of course, losing Judon and CG - arguably the 2 most important defensive players - is a big part of that.)

Our defense without Judon and Gonzalez doesn't resemble the one that played against the Saints though. Having said that, NFL teams coming off a shutout have historically performed exceptionally well the following week. This season only the Giants win in Arizona following their 40-0 loss to Dallas qualifies......I expect us to bring that record to 2-0 after tomorrow.

Before judon and Gonzalez were injured they were also ravaged by injuries in the secondary aka the Joneses. Now we are getting some of the Joneses back, but I suspect it will be more of a bend but don't break defense as in the past when they were dinged up or lower on talent. But an offense that turns the ball over so much, goes three and out so much, and puts points on the board for the other team is one that puts a hell of a lot of stress on any defense.

It’s unbelievable what a tire fire this is, burning out of control for weeks into months. I thought this was kind of a joke like take the points right? Then I started thinking that if even Trent Brown is questionable, which I think means 75% chance not to start, when they’re both likely to end up in high single digits. Stay away : )

Game thready - but maybe the line is practicing on the field where all those old balls from seasons past are buried. Last year was just too many and now and it’s like a pet Cemetery thing.

Promoted Reagor and activated Tyquan, so the WRs got a lot of faster... Not necessarily better, but faster

I don't have a lot of optimism for this week, but at least there is some smoke that they'll try some different things. I think a mobile QB might be the only way to deal with their offensive line issues. And some more speed at WR...why not. They need to throw as many darts as possible. I'm a little disappointed Boutte isn't showing something in practice to deserve a shot too.

I’ve been wondering something similar… What is it with New England teams and inability to stay healthy these past 2 years? Red Sox pitching, Patriots OL…. have we angered the gods or something?

Questionable is a 50-50 chance to play.
Doubtful is a 25-75 chance to play.

He doesn't really add speed or ability to get separation, which the others might. He's a Davante Parker type and we don't necessarily need another one of those.
He is if his ankle is an issue long term. Before that injury, he flashed speed and the ability to separate.

Despite the poor combine testing, Boutte looked more explosive on tape. In a post-draft interview, Boutte did mention that he was dealing with a broken bone in his ankle during the combine. I dug deeper into his track background and status as a first-round talent to see what kind of athlete the Patriots are getting.

Boutte was one of the youngest prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft at just 20 years old. Boutte just turned 21 on May 7th. Only a few years removed, it was rumored that in high-school Boutte ran a 4.37 40-yard dash. Knowing this, I went to the tape to see if I could find evidence to show a more explosive playmaker than his combine testing numbers would suggest.

Impressively off for Rap.. Zappe above Grier, and no way the leash is short with Malik backing up and warming up doing WR and KR work instead of throwing
Theory: Malik does not get a single snap at QB, Jones has a mediocre game but throws a pick 6 late.

First half update: Malik had one snap at QB (handoff for 1 yard ham ). No throws to Malik, Thornton, or Reagor. Mac threw a “he should be benched-worthy” INT.
