Hurd looks huge there. I'm sure standing next to Tyquan helps but the dude is stacked.I made the trip down this morning and took a few pictures.

Listed at 6'5", 230 and you definitely noticed him when standing with the other receivers.Hurd looks huge there. I'm sure standing next to Tyquan helps but the dude is stacked.
I think this is year 2 of it?Thanks for starting the thread, T4W.
I notice the OL practicing with the padded helmets. Prevention of concussions is a good thing. Is this a new thing for the league or have I just not paid close enough attention?
I think they started using them last year. I remember them from watching Hard Knocks. Thanks for starting the thread, T4W.

I think they started a couple years back. If they help prevent concussions, why are they not used in games???Thanks for starting the thread, T4W.

Mac is in his third year, maybe he's the one who should be more cognizant of the media and start giving bullshit non-answers instead of making it a point to consistently talk about stuff in terms of how it relates to last year. Tom was a much higher profile player and managed to keep his press conferences from turning into talk radio fodder for about 20 years. If he can do it, so can Mac.Phil already jonesing for some drama. It’s only the first week of camp, my guy.

Not his responsibility. If Felger and Mazz want to take his comments out of context, they will do so no matter how Mac answers.Mac is in his third year, maybe he's the one who should be more cognizant of the media and start giving bullshit non-answers instead of making it a point to consistently talk about stuff in terms of how it relates to last year. It sounds to me like Phil is trying to throw some cold water on the drama and provide context to what looks on paper like ambiguous wording from Mac.Phil already jonesing for some drama. It’s only the first week of camp, my guy.

Nah, it very much is his responsibility and there's no single person dead or alive who would agree with me on that more than one Bill Belichick. I guess I just don't understand why he has to specifically bring up last season and just pretty much openly state it was challenging to their relationship. Not his responsibility. He was answering a question. If you read the full answer, you will see there is nothing wrong with his answer. Again, the media reaction is not his problem, and Bill would agree.Nah, it very much is his responsibility and there's no single person dead or alive who would agree with me on that more than one Bill Belichick. I know it's unlikely he'll make the roster, but as a URI fan I'd love to see him at least make the practice squad. As noted elsewhere, Trent Brown was out there and continues to be a large human.

Jones went 6-for-14 on throws on Thursday, including at least three “sacks” during 11v11s. Zappe went 10-for-15, with all of his reps against the second-team defense.
It’s been a slow start for New England’s offense out of the gate, with the first-team defense not giving up much during red-zone reps.
Exactly. The D knows they are throwing every playAren't they strictly doing red zone, with no running game? I mean, it's kinda tough to read anything into that.
If only there were a veteran WR available this offseason who excels in making catches in tight spaces…Exactly. The D knows they are throwing every play
Yes, Edelman remains unsignedIf only there were a veteran WR available this offseason who excels in making catches in tight spaces…
Until the pads come on, the practices are fun but essentially meaningless when it comes to learning much of anything about the team. N'Keal Harry always looked great this time of year.Aren't they strictly doing red zone, with no running game? I mean, it's kinda tough to read anything into that.
Yeah--it's 100% a pass, by a team installing new offense, in the red zone, against a top 5 NFL defense. Who cares?Exactly. The D knows they are throwing every play
Generally agree. I think you can learn a little about what the coaches think from player utilization. LIke really interesting to me that Douglas seems to be getting a decent amount of reps--that suggests he's picking up the offense and showing well in the practices and meetings and might be a keeper.Until the pads come on, the practices are fun but essentially meaningless when it comes to learning much of anything about the team. Sorry I meant Montgomery!
No worries, just wanted to provide some clarity on Barmore who is a critical piece of the DL this year (imo).Sorry I meant Montgomery!
One thing Lazar and some others have said is that it is noticeably "cleaner". That the issues are simply execution, which should get better as the offense gets acclimated. Last year, there was that and a lot of disorganization on the offense.Generally agree. I think you can learn a little about what the coaches think from player utilization. I doubt the offense is that good this year and this is nitpicky of me but separation is so overrated. I think the PFW guys-and many fans-tends to have a pretty narrow idea of what separation means (Perillo is essentially talking about outside guys cleanly beating their men downfield with speed). Especially with Parker and Henry you’re not going to get that-theyre decent players who get contested balls pretty well but they aren’t blowing th doors off people. in any event there’s a lot of ways you do get separation through play design play calling, players learning to make adjustments and developing precise timingThey have an actual OC now and the reports aren't of complete incompetence on the offensive side of the ball as they were last year, but listening to Patriots Unfiltered live from all three practices it's very clear guys just haven't been able to generate separation. I'm obviously not worried yet and this defense is pretty good, but in 2021 the offense had good days and they haven't had one yet.
