I've tried to put likely Week 1 starter and anyone who ended last season on the roster first, then FA signings, then draftees, then the "Wait, Who's".

QB: Brissett, Zappe, Maye, Milton, Rourke.
Can Milton beat out Zappe? How soon until Maye starts?

RB: Stevenson, Gibson, Harris, Hasty, Vaughn
Not much depth there after the top 2. I imagine we will see some sort of FA signing here.

WR: Bourne, Douglas, Smith-Schuster, Thornton, Reagor, Boutte, Osborn, Polk, J Baker, K Baker, Luther
I was tempted to list Polk and J Baker as the starters with Bourne, but I think the competition in this room to start and to fill the roster will be interesting. I'm not sure if anyone other than Reagor has ST value.

TE: Henry, Hooper, Bell, Pettway, Wilcox
Any chance Milton ends up in this room?

OLine: Okorafor, Strange, D Andrews, Sow, Onwenu, Mafi, J Andrews, Anderson, Lowe, McDermott, Steuber, Wallace, Robinson, Jordan, Wheatley
That's a lot of bodies. Assuming D Andrews doesn't retire, and barring injury, the middle 3 spots are likely set. The big question is what will happen as the two tackle spots. Presumably Onwenu is RT, but could he move to LT and allow Wallace or Okorafor to handle RT?

DT/NG: Barmore, Godchaux, Roberts, Ekuale, Pharms, Hill, Watts
I wonder if the lack of any draft capital here means they feel good about the back half of this room.

Edge: Judon, Jennings, Wise, Uche, White, Bradley-King, Ximines

ILB: Bentley, Tavai, Takitaki, McMillan, Mapu, Elliss, Giles-Harris,
Will we ever see McMillan on the field in a meaningful game? Interesting that the patriots.com site lists Mapu as a LB.

CB: Gonzalez, J Jones, M Jones, Austin, Bolden, Wade, Wilson, Dial, Hearn
Presumably a lot of ST will come from this group, after the first three. Pats website lists Dial as DB, but I'm including here as that is how we was drafted.

S: Dugger, Peppers, Phillips, Bledsoe, Hawkins
Seems thin, but Mapu and Dial each could be listed here.

ST: Ryland, Baringer, Cardona, Schooler, Slye
Feels very sad not to be typing in Slater here. Interesting to note that other than Schooler, there don't seem to be any ST-only guys (STOOGES? STOGIES?) -- another notable change in roster management compared to the last 20 years.

EDIT: I added 3 players who I overlooked (2 OL and Peppers -- doh!)
EDIT 2: McDermott cut.
EDIT 3: Added Ximines
EDIT 4: Added Slye

If Milton disappoints, he's cut. If he shows promise, he stays.

Zappe can almost certainly clear waivers and be signed to the practice squad. The only way he makes the roster is if Maye looks so raw they don;t even want him on the field just yet.

WR: Bourne, Douglas, Smith-Schuster, Thornton, Reagor, Boutte, Osborn, Polk, J Baker, K Baker, Luther

I'm sure injuries will be a factor here. I think Douglas, Bourne, Polk, and Baker are the locks. I honestly want to see Thornton make it - the flashes of speed are intriguing even though he has been unproductive, but I think Osborn has the inside track for the 5th slot and Reagor is probably aheadof Thornton, too.

OLine: Okorafor, Strange, D Andrews, Sow, Onwenu, Mafi, J Andrews, Anderson, Lowe, McDermott, Steuber, Wallace, Robinson

At least 3 of these guys are gone. D Andrews, Sow, Onwenu, Okorafor, Strange, Wallace, Robinson would seem to be the locks. There's also Wheatley and a guy named Michael Jordan in (and mauybe soon out of) the mix.

CB: Gonzalez, J Jones, M Jones, Austin, Bolden, Wade, Wilson, Dial, Hearn

It will be good to see Gonzalez and Marcus back.

The WR room will be most interesting to me. JuJu’s contract status gives him a leg up but he was so awful last year that I really don’t want him clogging up a spot.

The locks to me feel like Bourne, Douglas, Polk, and Baker. Then, you probably lean vets with JuJu and Osborn. Boutte and/or Thornton will really have to impress to make this roster.

Could still be a trade or FA acquisition at some point too.

Osborn feels like a shoe-in to me, he is a really decent player and is way too young to think he's this year's camp special. I think it's one spot for JuJu, Boutte, and Thornton, and I think it entirely depends on whether another year post surgery means JuJu is closer to 2022 form. If not, I think he's a goner.

I wonder if the new kickoff rules give Raegor an inside shot at WR. Boutte, Thornton, JJSS... I'm rooting for the first two, but they might all be gone.

I hope they bring in some camp competition for Ryland.

On the QBs, if Bailey is good on prep and in the room, put him on the PS, but otherwise let him fulfill his destiny in the USFL. I'd let the reps go to Brissett, Maye and Milton (unless Milton clearly looks like he doesn't belong in the league).

Are Bourne and Strange going to be ready for opening day? Could be candidates for PUP

CB and interior DL are really thin and not much promising depth.

Injuries will probably sort a lot of this stuff out but I have to think Boutte and Thornton are probably practice squad guys if the others are healthy.

There will likely be some intriguing cuts in camp if depth is a serious concern. I'm not nearly as down on depth at this point as some of you. Aside from the strength and conditioning programs, minicamps haven't started yet so let's see what happens.

A lot depends on the guys they just drafted being good, but if I squint I can see the makings of a real WR room. Maybe not elite elite but good enough, much deeper than we've had, and with a variety of skills similar to maybe some of those early 2000s groups with Branch/Givens/Patten/Brown where if the OL play holds up and the QB can play, then we could do a lot worse.

I'd probably dip back into the pass catcher pool next draft too.

Cap space permitting, I think Tee Higgins makes a lot of sense as a FA signing next offseason, if he’s not moved before then. With Bourne, Douglas, and Polk, I think you have a really solid unit of guys in intermediate throws but you don’t really have a deep threat. We hoped Tyquan would be that guy, and he still might, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Adding Higgins as a true 1b deep threat WR would push everyone down into a more appropriate position and open the middle of the field for guys who operate pretty well there.

We should probably make a Kicker position thread, but bringing over a post I made the other day in the UDFA thread:

Personally I'd like to see the Pats bring in a veteran free agent Kicker at the very least as camp competition, but based on @IdiotKicker 's horrifying review of Ryland, perhaps more than that.

The Jags just released Joey Slye, for example. He's been bad from 50+ and on XPs in recent years, but he was a cromulent 16/19 (84.2%) from 49 and under last season, while our pal Ryland was a fainting couch worthy 14/21 (66%). Again, defer to @IdiotKicker and others, but if Ryland isn't fixable I wouldn't mind a guy like Slye who has shown he can kick in the NFL.
