Not with his health issues. He's more important for postseason than this.
If he could have gotten out of the 9th perfect on only 7 or 8 pitches, I think he could have gotten one more inning given the circumstances. Tough to pull anyone, even Hill, from a perfecto with less than 100 pitches.

I don't think he can. Matt Young had his stripped because he didn't go the full nine innings. Interesting thought exercise...what if that situation happened in the 10th? No-hitter or not?
Funny thing is he (and Andy Hawkins) got credit for a complete game, but no no-hitter. Which is stupid.

He got through with only 8 pitches, so he's probably coming out for the 10th at the minimum.

95 pitches...I think we see Hill if the Dodgers score a run here in the top of the 10th. If not, he's not going two more innings so there's no reason to even bring him out.

Yep, MLB defines a no-hitter as a game where a team bats for at least nine innings without recording a hit.

Well he's gone 27 batters without a hit or a walk. I remember when Curt Schilling did that.

? It's a no-hitter if you pitch 9ip or more CG, no matter the score.

ed: i'm probably missing something
Nope, I was. Pitcher goes 9.2 and loses, it's a no-hitter

Selfishly, I'm starting Hill in a couple of fantasy leagues that give bonuses for CG and SO and humongous bonuses for no-hitters and perfect games. Which I'm sure you were all dying to know.

Pitching a 1 hitter and allowing the first batter of the game to homer is a better feeling than pitching a 1 hitter and allowing the last batter of the game to homer.

Jason Hammel perfect through 5 in Cleveland, 58 pitches. I feel pretty confident saying that this one will not last, but the pitch count is good at least.
