Question for Duke/UNC fans: Who's your 2nd least favorite/most hated ACC team?

I don’t hate UNC. They’re a worthy rival that generally produces fantastic rivalry games. I am semi jealous of their putting together teams that play together for years at a time instead of one and done.
I don’t truly hate Virginia.
State is little brother, whatever. They beat us from time to time in their gym. Have they made a sweet 16 this century?
Fuck Wake hard. And that only has like 1% to do with today.
But my answer will forever be Maryland.

Their brand of offense is banned by the Geneva Convention. They haven't broken 50 in 3 straight games.
Honestly, Duke is really just it for me. I don’t have any ill will toward Wake or State and never had too many reasons to hate any of the other ACC schools. My grandfather had season tickets to Wake in the 90’s because they were close by, so I got to see a lot of great basketball over there.
I always explain like this to people “It’s important to beat Duke, but I’d rather lose to them than State.”. Just an absolutely loathsome fanbase. Anyone who has lived in North Carolina and is answering this question will say State. And for me it’s number 1.
I have a good friend who went to Stanford/Harvard but his team is NC State and he loathes UNC.

No it’s not. State can’t win because their fans don’t deserve to be happy.
Fanbase is part of the package in hating a team. Duke fans I know through professional life know basketball. I can respect them.

My mom grew up a Tarheel fan in the 60s through early 80s, and the Wolfpack was enemy #1, peaking with their victory over the Michael Jordan 'heels team in the '83 ACC tournament and subsequent Wolfpack national title. She passed that down to me. Duke is #2 by some margin, and I don't hate them so much as view them as a major rival. Heck, if UNC is eliminated I'd rather see Duke win than most non-ACC teams.
My cousins who grew up in NC in the 80s/90s think I'm insane.
I've no dog in this fight, but in the Tobacco Road question y'all posed, the question seems to presume a hoops based rivalry, but would it matter if the sport was football or lacrosse? Would FSU or Clemson, or the northern carpetbaggers, BC or Syracuse, factor into sports hate? And what about the part time interloper, Notre Dame?

I had implied mens basketball but it may likely be different across sports.
I know UNC womens lacrosse fans hate BC a lot, for example.

Agreed. There is no more detestable of a fan base than Duke. And is there a team with a more detestable run of players? Wojo, Grayson Allen, dahntay Jones (who when we stormed the court against them in 2002 was taking full on swings at fans) Reddick, Laetner. Is there a team that has 2 players even on par with any of those guys?
I mean I hate UNC because I am supposed to, but I never hated Roy or any of their players like K and those Duke players I mentioned. Throw Duke Vitale on top of it all and Duke is a special mix of feces. But I do feel bad that their fans have had such a tough year with the Cowboys being bouned from the playoffs... the Yankees in a championship drought and the Lakers are fighting to make the playoffs.
Edit: and the thing that sucks about college sports these days is the players don't even hang around long enough to hate. I mean Kyrie went to Duke and I didn't even mention him. I'll also mention I do like Tims as a poster so hopefully this is all in good fun.

Are there still Duke fans out there who didn’t attend? Living in MA, I rarely see any Duke gear. Maybe the fan base is detestable, I dunno.
I'm in mn and I still see a ton of Duke gear. Can't speak to whether they attended or not. Obviously I am having a bit of fun with you. Definitely doesn't seem as crazy as it was 10 years ago with the Duke/Yankees/Cowboys overlap.
As a big Carolina fan, I can say that my hatred for Duke is based on a healthy sporting rivalry. Duke has had a ton of success and are a worthy rival. I still hate them and Coach K with every fibre of my being, but I respect the success their program has had. I consider NC State to be far more loathsome as a fan base and as an athletic department.
I remember how their fans contributed to and stoked the flames of the NCAA investigation in the 2010s. I remember their fans digging through whatever they could find to get PJ Hairston in trouble during the rental car thing in 2014. Their message board had a 1,000+ page thread where their fans just peddled all sorts of insane conspiracy theories regarding UNC athletics. Their former athletic director Debbie Yow was basically a glorified message board troll. I hate how Dave Doeren takes all kinds of pot shots at Carolina athletes - like referring to our players "pieces of shit" after the game this November. Somehow nothing is made of this, while Drake Maye is forced to apologize for saying that those who go to State couldn't get into Carolina, or Courtney Banghart is forced to apologize for calling State fans classless (which they are for the most part) or talking about the size of State's arena.

We're talking about a school whose teams haven't won an ACC Championship (Regular Season or Tournament) in football, basketball, or baseball since 1992, but according to their fans it's all because of Carolina cheating, or John Swofford, or the refs, or whoever and not because of their own incompetence and irrelevance. I hope NC State loses every game they play in the most heartbreaking and crippling way possible for eternity.

I'm told there was a bumper sticker that said: "Wake is fake, Duke is puke...but the team I hate is NC State!"
Duke recruits all time punchable faces as a number one criteria it seems.. and like they’re in the 1960s and they have to get as close as they can to fielding an all white team year after year which is pretty surprising for a D1 school. I’m sure Cooper Flagg will fit right in.
Watching Coach K scream at refs and players.. it always felt like he got more respect than Knight only because he didn’t throw chairs or get caught choking a player.. his theatrics on court seemed fairly despicable for such a highly respected coach, but I’m def biased.
It was nice that UNC sent him off with a loss.
You forgot Cherokee Parks and Bobby Hurley .. (who I kind of grudgingly respect).
The white player thing is a weird callout, at least for the last ~15 years or so since they went for the one and done stars they’ve been predominantly a black team.
