I stayed for about 45 min due to Arcand but gave up after that. I can't take that much negativity in the morning.
Funny, I heard exactly those words when I got into the car and recognized the voice and changed the station right away...I made it 3 minutes, and bailed when Jones said "quote unquote extension" for the third time. I'm not sure they could pick a worse replacement host. Podcasts it is until T&R return.
Easier said than done. I lasted about 5 minutes on each show this morning before switching to music. He's on for two weeks?!? Geez, poor timing. It's like they're trying to inject life into the Greg Hill show.
Any chance they played the clip of the European guy during the Sox drunken recap years ago saying "I don't like fats ladies." Dying to hear that clip again. I'll never forget Fred absolutely LOSING it during that clip.Loving this 10 year anniversary show. Playing all the good montages from over the years. Right now it's the 2011 Bruins.
Ha! Something like "ladies from Turkey are verry verry fat". Loved that oneAny chance they played the clip of the European guy during the Sox drunken recap years ago saying "I don't like fats ladies." Dying to hear that clip again. I'll never forget Fred absolutely LOSING it during that clip.
Haha. It was actually "Ladies from Boston...." Classic stuff.Ha! Something like "ladies from Turkey are verry verry fat". Loved that one
i didn’t hear it live but turned it on that morning for a 2 hour commute to Watertown to visit a customer and was shocked. They replayed it from 6-8 or whatever. Fred had way too much knowledge about Charlie’s upbringing. The Charlie Sheen visit was amazing. I remember hearing it live and loving it.
I'm not a Wallach hater like some folks, but Murray was the update guy/3rd chair with T&R today... and I think the show was better. Not sure if it would be after several weeks, sometimes these update guys have a short shelf life, but today was pretty good.I actually really like Joe Murray.
I was laughing harder than I have in years when he started playing the fart over Brass Monkey.Fart court still cracks me up every time. I'm a child
My first thought was him too. "Are you gonna eat that shoe?"I don't know if it's funny/sad/whatever but the first thing I thought about when I heard the Money Man died was Fred.
"Y'wanna see a dead body??"My first thought was him too. "Are you gonna eat that shoe?"
It is well documented on that very radio station: he hung around some "bad bitches", "smoked Swishers" and had the "V.I.P. on swole" a bit too much.Any clue what personal stuff he was illuding to? I didn't listen to the interview but I listened to the beginning where he talked about going through stuff, getting his life in order, etc
I heard the beginning on replay this morning at 7am. He said he had a son.Any clue what personal stuff he was illuding to? I didn't listen to the interview but I listened to the beginning where he talked about going through stuff, getting his life in order, etc
Lady: There's a stupid kid at the parkThis Brookline bit is great. What awful people, man!
She couldn't even keep the accent up. Thank God I never lived there. What a miserable collection of busybodies!Lady: There's a stupid kid at the park
Office: excuse me?
the best part is the 911 operators, police and fire love They do it. The lines should be kept clear for real emergencies and not a kid is kicking up dust on A baseball field or someone is running a lead blower. This Brookline bit is great. What awful people, man!
I would love to hear them get some of these dispatchers on the show. You can just tell how they just barely tolerate these peoplethe best part is the 911 operators, police and fire love They do it. Sometimes Wallach just gets in a "zone" where he blabs and blabs. My favorite is that every one of his takes is hedged by a disclaimer of "BUT" (emphasis on the "T"), where he tries to play both sides. Brutal radio/listening either way.I listened for the first 45 minutes this morning and, no exaggeration, Wallach said at least 65% of the words. Even Fred was doing the..."right, uh-huh, yea" while he was talking. You could tell that he was annoyed.
Fred seems super checked out lately. I love T&R and think it's a great radio program, but Fred's been mailing it in for months. His hot takez like BB is a horrible person is boring, the AB stuff was boring (outside of fart noises). When Fred give takez, the show is bad. Same way as it was bad when Rich talked about AD to the Celtics for 3 years or Kyrie for 2 years. Boring. His whole thing today about "Brady doesn't even try to evade the rush anymore" was awful. There was a free rusher constantly yesterday and when Phil Howe came on said Fred was a moron. I dont know why Freddy T is all about the Hot Takez lately but it's brutal. I turned it off and went to watch Peaky BlindersI listened for the first 45 minutes this morning and, no exaggeration, Wallach said at least 65% of the words. Even Fred was doing the..."right, uh-huh, yea" while he was talking. You could tell that he was annoyed.
The best thing about Merriweather is that he could do these interviews for the next 20 years and still not know which one of them is Fred or Rich. The Brandon Merriweather interviews have been awesome. It's refreshing because he's about as open and honest about his playing days as they come and he brings a fun personality as well. He just seems completely genuine during every interview.
Same with Ted Johnson, he's just not as colorful... Walldick where you at?
He's still the owner of one of my favorite moments in T+R history back when they were on in the afternoon on WBCN. He was just Intern Nick back then and they had him read an add for like a local kids play place (Chuck E Cheese-esque) and he completely butchered it. I couldn't stop laughing. I just remember "we have the biggest ball pit in THE New England" and doubling over in laughter.I love Nick, his attempt at reading a simple ad is so funny.
It was the Johnson Center for the Mentally Challenge I think. He's still the owner of one of my favorite moments in T+R history back when they were on in the afternoon on WBCN. You probably had to be there.

That is 100% it. I still laugh at it 10+ years later.Good Times Emporium.
"They offer the biggest ball pit in the New England!"
That same week they had Adam 12 read a spot for the church of scientologyThat is 100% it. I still laugh at it 10+ years later.
