I just joined again. Just a question: is there any need to split the league into divisions? It seems like it unnecessarily and arbitrarily divides the talent pool.

Also...why the hell are we using GWG as a counting stat? Seems like a stat that ends up completely random from year to year.
 
Faceoffs bothers me a little bit too, as it puts a whole lot of emphasis on the center position, but I'm more OK with that than GWG.

This league doesn't use faceoff wins. That's czar's league - and yes it totally screws things up.

Okay, now you're talking above my head. I don't know all of this industry jargon, YP, MP. All I know is that I can't get a record contract, we cannot get a record contract unless we take those tapes to the record company. And granted, the tapes themselves are a uh um oh, you own them, all right, but the magic that is on those tapes. That fucking heart and soul that we put onto those tapes, that is ours and you don't own that. Now I need to take that magic and get it over the record company. And they're waiting for us, we were supposed to be there a half hour ago. We look like assholes, man.

Feel free to give Nap my (Hejdas Gonna Hate) spot. I've got some stuff coming up in the next couple of months that will keep me extra busy, so it's not the worst idea in the world that I let someone else have a crack at this. After all, I've already won this league.

Drafting Brian Elliott early and Jonathan Drouin hours after he was sent back to juniors weren't my finest moments. Not too disappointed overall though.

As usual, I drafted a really deep team that will finish 1st in the regular season and then suffer a nut crushing loss in the playoffs. I can feel the excitement already!

My team is a great potential team (Seguin/Eller/Kane/Kessel/Gallagher/Weber/Barrie). But potential doesn't win fantasy championships. I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed fairly often with my results this season.

I feel like 6th-7th in NHL draft is no mans land. You just miss out on the top wave of elite scorers (Crosby/Ovechkin/Stamkos/Malkin/Tavares). Decided that a Tuukka/Howard 1-2 punch at goalie and some decent depth at fwd could win me enough games.
 
Guess we'll see.

I dozed off briefly Sunday and missed the beginning.  On the plus side Autodraft has come a long way since the days of ending up with  4 retired guys on your roster.   Sadly Autodraft probably did a better job than I did (even if it did leave me 4 centers and 2 LW), something I made immediately worse by jumping in right before my pick, and grabbing a C/LW with he next pick

Bumping this thread for the last day of the semifinal round.  Nevin Markwart (FelixM) has a sizable 7-4 lead over Mr Bananagrabner (me), but I'm still within striking distance to defend my RMPS Championship.  In the other semifinal, PSK and ForceAtHome are locked in a 5-5 tie.  PSK leads in most offense categories, while F@H has taken the goaltender categories thanks to Lehtonen and Price.
 
Should be a good Sunday with some close finishes.

Won my office league, I'm in the finals of the RMPS league... and I lost out on a trip to the finals in another league by 1 SOG, which was applied to my opponent's team during stat corrections. Ouch.

Rough luck for Felix... I got credited for a shutout in Ben Bishop's start in which he got hurt after making 3 saves due to Lindback completing the shutout.

That puts too much emphasis on the draft, and too little on in season mangement, imo.  I think either reducing to 14 teams by attrition or reducing roster sizes would be preferable.

crazy idea - have TWO, 12 team leagues, and have them tiered like soccer, so the bottom six teams of the top league get demoted at the end of the year, and the top six leagues in the bottom league get promoted at the end of the year.  Or something like that.

I am the commish. As with all things in this league, majority rules. I am against shrinking teams, as that would leave out a lot of RMPS'rs. We used to have the Reg Dunlop League for SoSH'ers, but that wasn't renewed this year. Maybe a 2nd league that is smaller? 
 
Also, I know some people proposed changes to the rules (i.e. positions, stats, etc), so feel free to post them here. 
 
Finally, congrats to PSK. He eliminated my team in the first round, but it was a disappointing year for me. With Rinne out all year, my team never really recovered from only having one goalie (Miller). I was also pretty thin at the Center spot as well. Until next year!
