That single "suuuuuuck ittttttt" more perfectly serves as a summary statement for Patriots Nation to the world than any number of posts or columns I've read.

Funny, just this morning -- for no good reason, I was again replaying this end-of-game sequence while I was in the shower. First, how the flag thrown for celebration gave me a temporary heart attack, but I was able to celebrate again when the ref announced, "the interception is confirmed..." But then, because the ball was on the half-yard line, I still couldn't take in the joy. It was the next flag, where sheer bliss finally began to settle in.

The Patriots' Super Bowl XLIX rings each featured 205 diamonds. Two. Hundred. And. Five. Diamonds.

Great video from the event from the Patriots website. I noticed a trend of all the guys wearing the rings on their middle fingers all night. Coincidence?

Far be it for the NFL to take a little occasion like its current champions commemorating their Super Bowl win with well-earned rings without getting into the troll game on its official social media. I mean, you don’t have to be Robert Langdon to break the Da Vinci Code of “So. Many. Diamonds.” As in “S.M.D.” As in a particular three-word expression of fighting words, the first of which is “suck” and middle one being “my.” And at the risk of making it too obvious for you, the last one isn’t “diamonds.”

I don't think the Patriots would have known, requested, or been involved with it, but whatever. I choose to believe it's true because I want it to be.
