OK how about we trade. I'll take the Panthers and you can take the raiders?Gunfighter 09 said:
If we go down to single teams per person, I would pick for the silver & black

You got it, unless I should flip Wibi for it.
I'll take on themesschallenge that is the Cowboys too if no one wants them.

The Houston Texans take Johnny Manziel, QB. I considered Clowney extensively, but ultimately, without a quarterback we can trust, I couldn't pass on a Quarterback who could be a franchise player. We still have Watt on defense, and given the strides Manziel showed at his pro day, I like his chances to become an efficient pocket passer and retain his mobility and playmaking ability.
Call me old fashioned - I'd like to see the guy earn the job. Whether that is in training camp or by Week 12, Manziel is gonna be the starter for these fictional Texans by the end of 2014 and for a long, long time to come. I don't see he Tebow comparison personally. Manziel has a far better throwing motion and much more translatable skills than Tebow. His floor is a lot higher in my mind.Eck'sSneakyCheese said:If you're picking a guy number 1 overall, you better be anointing him as your starter. Letting him sit or hold a clipboard isn't going to do him any good. In fact, I think that mindset has become antiquated in todays NFL.
Manziel could be a difference maker. He could also be Tebow part deux. I understand your line of thought, I still think it's a bold pick.

Manzel??? We're off to a controversial start for sure.
I agree that Manzel could be -- should be -- much better than Tebow but picking him on a horrible pass blocking team (minus Duane Brown -- literally every other OL got a minus PFF grade) is inviting disaster.
This is a unit that allowed 55 QB hits and 180 hurries. That's a whopping 223 total pressures allowed including sacks in just 684 passing plays.
Manzel may start by week 12, but he may be out by week 14.
P.S. Not sure if it's kosher to talk about what player should have been picked -- thoughts?

I think we should be able to. What's the point of doing this if we're not going to discuss it? There's no reason to be overly competitive about an Internet mock draft.wibi said:
On the baseball side its not kosher
