Previous years in which the Stanley Cup-clinching game featured the winning team scoring 7+ Goals:

-1991 Penguins (8)
-1985 Oilers (8)
-1948 Maple Leafs (7)

Would you believe it if I told you that the best goalie they faced was possibly Conor Hellebuyck? Skinner was awful all playoffs by goals saved above average. So was Oettinger. Bobrovskiy was great…except this round.

But again, are they just running into bad goalies or are they making good goalies look bad?
Who can say for sure, but Bob in particular looked so much worse this series.

This looks to be the first hat trick in which said player's team clinched the Cup that same game.

If I were king of the NHL, I'd degree that an empty net goal ends the game. Flat out. Like seriously, why bother playing the last few minutes. Just walk it off.

Haven’t been too many hat tricks in the Stanley cup finals. I wonder how many have been three ways.

That scans. I think I remember hearing that there had never been a Game 7 hat trick back in 2011 when Bergeron was a goal away for the whole third period.

Humiliating is an appropriate word here.
Glad the whole thing is over.
Bring on next year!

Good on Cassidy. He deserved it in 2019, glad he finally got his now.

I don't believe in karma, but boy howdy, this postseason certainly feels like Bruins management's comeuppance for the Mitchel Miller saga. "Mistakes were made, but not by us."

Kessel sighting!
I’m here for his metamorphosis into the real like Jean-Jacques François Jacques-Jean.

If you did, this would be a nice spot to point out that he’s still technically on the Bruins, according to CapFriendly.

Gordie Howe, Game 5 of 1955 also did so.

BLAH, sorry about the Stone stat y'all.

BRING ON THE CUP! The best presentation in sports. Ever.
I suppose if you always guess Gordie on that stuff you have a good chance of being right.

Funny listening to Stone say Bruce bought an intensity to their locker room they needed when it was probably that intensity that got him run out of Boston. I do think he had run his course but clearly is still an excellent coach.

I got to see a cup skate at home once. Ducks. Teemu.

That’s all. Just a not so humble brag. It was cool.
