All along. So, do we think he tried something to speed his injury recovery or has he been doping all along but only now has been caught?
We’ve had someone with 3 MVP’s and 3 other top 3 finishers who’s not getting in23 years old, two straight top 4 MVP seasons, but...never a HOFer. Don't think we've had anything like that before.
It's always "doping all along". As does every other player. So, do we think he tried something to speed his injury recovery or has he been doping all along but only now has been caught?
Pretty sure he was being facetious. We’ve had someone with 3 MVP’s and 3 other top 3 finishers who’s not getting in
Yup. They never stopped. It's always "doping all along". As does every other player.
Well.... at some point they all START doping, and it doesn't logically follow that they all started several years into the majors. It's entirely possible a guy has enough talent to make the majors and do fairly well, but then decides to take them and up his game. It's always "doping all along". As does every other player.
This could be true even if he was using PEDs the entire time. It could have easily fast tracked him to the major leagues because he developed the power earlier than he normally would have. It's entirely possible a guy has enough talent to make the majors and do fairly well.
The designer drugs are further along than the testing. This has always been the case. Some guys get stupid and get caught. For those who think he's been doing this for some time, how has he not been caught before now? Bad luck in terms of the timing of testing? A screw-up with his masking agent schedule? I just don't understand how guys with this much to lose wind up getting banged for PEDs.
Yikes. Next thing you’ll tell me, giving 23 year olds half a billion dollars guaranteed can lead to unintended risks! So since signing his record-breaking 14-year contract, he's had:
13 years and 335 million left.
- Repeated left shoulder subluxations, which he refuses to get surgery to fix and limits him to the outfield.
- Multiple motorcycle accidents in the same offseason, one of which resulted in a broken wrist that caused him to miss 4 months of baseball.
- an 80-game PED suspension.
1987. Lol man. OF COURSE Bonds wasn't doping in 1987. It's clear he started the year after the home run battle with Sosa and Mark M. I thought that was public record. Not a lot of players were doping in the 80s. A handful, at most.Well.... at some point they all START doping, and it doesn't logically follow that they all started several years into the majors. For example...I don't think that Barry Bonds was doping back in 1987 when he hit .261 with 25 homers in a season where homers went crazy. Or in 1989 when he hit .248 with 19 homers in 580 at-bats. I think it's totally reasonable to think Bonds was clean, got to a certain level in the majors, and THEN started doping.
Isn't the belief it started in the late 80s/early 90s with Canseco and McGwire? I always assumed Bonds started around 1999 to get back from injury.1987. Lol man. But the science has changed, as have the paychecks. Doping is required now. And it is seemingly pretty easy to not get caught.
Nope, Bonds was pissed Sosa and Mark M got all the press for the home run chase and Bonds was like, "Those dudes suck compared to me. They are just on the shit." And then Bonds went on the shit and became the greatest player in the last 100 years.Isn't the belief it started in the late 80s/early 90s with Canseco and McGwire? I agree it could have, and he also could have been using PEDs the entire time. But it doesn't follow that everyone has "always" been doing PEDs. I thought he was on the injured list. Had he returned from his injury yet? If he is still on the injured list I don't think his suspension can start until he is activated. If he is still injured, I don't think the Padres can simply activate him to begin his suspension. The rest of this season and the first 42 next year. Wow! The face of the franchise. How does he do this?
We’ve had someone with 3 MVP’s and 3 other top 3 finishers who’s not getting in
Sorry. I meant we have never had someone this good whose career was tainted this early. Yeah, it would be as if ARod was busted in 1999 or something.Pretty sure he was being facetious.

There's no way the Union would agree to anything like that. But maybe this will discourage teams more from giving mega long deals. One area I wish owners would collude on is making it mandatory that contracts are cancellable for steroid cases, domestic violence, and <insert other felonies>. Don't ever agree to another contract that guarantees under no matter what players do.
The union doesn't have to agree to anything. Contracts are custom for every player. The players either sign a contract or they don't. Sure, they could strike and refuse. But the fact that these contracts are invincible blows my mind. There's no way the Union would agree to anything like that. But maybe this will discourage teams more from giving mega long deals.
The owners have already shown that they will try to weasel out of contracts if allowed. See Bauer. There's probably riders that a team could put in, but what they could put in I would have to think is collectively bargained. The union doesn't have to agree to anything. Am I reading this tweet wrong? Is he saying that he frequently prescribes the medication that he then goes on to say makes the condition "far worse"?A dermatologist Royals fan says ringworm can be treated with "CLOBETASOL", which is different from "CLOSTEBOL". You can conjure up a conspiracy theory with an inept PR team from there.
