When Morikawa is on his game, he can be boring to watch from a viewing standpoint. You have to really appreciate his ball striking, which probably doesn't come across to the casual fans. When he is on, he drives it in the fairway, hits his approach to 20 feet flag high in the fat part of the green. He does that on repeat. That's what he did on like 27 of his last 30 or so holes this weekend, after a wobbly start on Saturday. Despite what Azinger wants you to believe, Morikawa is a lousy putter. He wins because his ball striking is so good that the volume of good looks he gets compensates for the lousy putter. He's an absolute machine, one of the best ball strikers I've ever seen and it's even garnered comparisons to Tiger.
I know some people disagree, but Jordan's always played a more "exciting" brand of golf. At his peak, he was a good putter and en even better ball striker. He was always loose with the driver which led him to getting into odd spots and then escaping out of them. For him, it never really was fairway, green, 2-putts. He's kind of unintentionally Phil-like. It's not anything measurable, but Jordan also seemed to have a flare for the dramatic. Jordan also started his career on a Tiger-like pace. Jordan had 11 wins with 3 majors before he turned 24 (Morikawa's age). Tiger was 15 and 2 when he turned 24.
