I've seen half a hole and this is already awesome. Tiger birdies 12 to go 1up, and then on the par 3 13th, Tiger bets him $300,000 on closest to the pin, Tiger hits it to 15 feet (213 yard hole) and Phil stuffs one inside of it at 9 feet or so.
I actually think this is a strike against it.both players’ pre-existing relationship with the course.
Tiger had a 12 foot putt for birdie on a 630 yard hole. Not horrendous. Phil's flop shot wasn't good, however. But it's not bad golf. It's just golf.this is bad golf
Yup. Almost nothing exciting has happened all day. Wonder if Phil closes it out here would they play 18 for a few mil, or would that be too interesting??this is bad golf
A lot of these fancy courses will have a short par 3 19th holes to settle bets. What is this 'special' 95 yard hole for the OT?
Ahhhh. The munis usually dont I guessA lot of these fancy courses will have a short par 3 19th holes to settle bets.
Were they encouraged to make the OT hole?that was an AWFUL putt!!!
Before the ink on the contract was dry. These guys decided to split the $9mil weeks ago
I don't know man. These guys are competitive and each thinks they can beat the other. And they're rich as fuck. I'd actually be surprised if they agreed to this. These guys decided to split the $9mil weeks ago
Nope!Well, there's the two good shots. Only problem is they are both so good, they should both make birdie.
I’m sorry. The match was eventually free on Bleacher Report Live. I watched the last four holes. I’m not a regular golf watcher, but in my uninformed opinion this was a disaster. They got a dramatic ending, but the golf was bad. The broadcast infrastructure failed.Anyone else have to pay an extra $6 to watch the end? My PPV cut out at 8. Had to buy the Jim Gaffigan special to see the last 2 putts
Basically, like the old Skins Games with the top four?Things that would have made this better:
1. Venue: play it in Scottsdale, with all those drunk fans.
2. It has to be on CBS, or Golf Channel. Someone with the knowhow. As a soccer fan, I know how shit Bleacher Report is.
3. Have it be the top four in the world.
True. Fowler v. Bubba would be much better. We watched this. There needed to be way more side action. I was bummed they weren’t making prop bets on just about every shot. “I’ll bet you 50k I can get up and down from here.”
If this happens again, it needs to be with some players that will actually talk and enjoy themselves. This oddly felt as if each guy actually needed the 9m and was laser focused on winning it.
