The Preakness is shorter than the Derby--a mile and 3/16 vs. a mile and a quarter.

I'd be happier for Mystik Dan and his connections if my trifecta didn't come in 2/3/4.

Also, Belmont is at Saratoga this year and will be 1 1/4.

Interesting. I forgot the Preakness was shorter. I guess maybe anything's possible. It seemed like Mystik Dan had a few things go right in terms of the difficult trips that some of the other horses had. With the smaller fields, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Having a potential triple crown on the line not at Belmont would be pretty weird. Sounds like it should be back at Belmont in 2026.

The race will start in a few minutes. The track looks _very_ wet. I don't know enough about horse racing to understand which of the horses might be most affected by the conditions, but it seems logical to expect a surprise.
