Tommy might be objectively a bad announcer and I can sympathize with fans of other teams who have to listen to him on league pass.
That being said, I cherish every single second we get to hear from him. He has been apart of the Celtics in some capacity since 1956; pretty much anything memorable in the entire history of the franchise has involved Tommy in some capacity. Yes he is old as dirt, gets some players names wrong and probably won't be talking about anybody's PER, but he still has so much passion and energy for the game and for the team that it doesn't matter, plus he obviously still has a great understanding of the fundamentals of the game. He represents a timelessness about the game that is overlooked when it comes to basketball.
Tommy is also a recognized painter, played a prominent role in the Players Union and once headed an insurance company.
Gorman is the perfect partner for him and he is my favorite play-by-play guy ever, in any sport.
