I want them both to drop football and present themselves to the Big East as a package deal.

Simply having the option of buying a beer at a college game is fortunate. I do my drinking at the tailgate before and after the game, but being able to buy one beer for kickoff and another at halftime would be awesome.Doug Beerabelli said:The food costs are ludicrous - beer costs same as at Fenway.

the tailgate is still good though

I don't care if Michigan is overrated, that was a hell of a game and the best atmosphere at the Rent since they built the place. And that loss to Maryland doesn't look as bad now that they just curbstomped West Virginia last night.
UConn has to try to keep their head above water and hope to get some kind of life raft from the ACC or B1G in the next 5 years or so. Even if it is a longshot. I still shake my head that Rutgers is sitting pretty and UConn is where it is. But I won't beat a dead horse.
Anyway, great game, brutal ending. Great effort, especially with three starters scratched before the game. What can you do.

How much more do we need to see of Pasqualoni?

I wasn't sure the school had the wherewithal to fire him in season, didn't expect it. They've botched dealing with PP to this point, why would that change, right? I guess it was important enough to them to a) send a message to fans and other schools (especially once in big 5 conferences) they were serious about fixing the problems, b) As stated in the linked article, concern PP would burn a year of Boyle eligibility in order to win games this year. I guess they go interim, and get the future guy lined up to start recruiting process about 8 pm on December 7 when the season ends.
This move indicates they are still serious about being competitive in D1 college football, which may be folly. I was OK with the concept of shrinking football and going back to Big East for other sports, but that's no longer in the short term or mid term plans. I hope they pull it off and get back on track.

Clears Cleaver said:They aren't firing him. Not now anyways. I posted on boneyard several times that I really think football will be deemphasized at uconn. It doesn't make the school money nor improve its brand. The AAC is a joke. The AD is dysfunctional. Why spend money if there is no hope that the ACC or b1g saves them. Just let it die on the vine.
Well the new guy is burning one year of Boyle's eligibility. He's starting against USF on 10/12.Plantiers Wart said:They have to fire him Monday, right? Bye week, and the AD has to be worried that Coach P will blow one of Boyle's years of eligibility trying to win a game. I thought Towson was the worst loss in recent history, but this one was worse.
Hey, Lane Kiffin is available.....
Plantiers Wart said:I think that's a mistake - with this crappy o-line and no running game, the kid is going to get pummeled.
Short sighted. Give Cochran a shot before you waste a year of the future on trying to salvage two or three wins in a lost season.
Now we have an athletic director who has been characterized as a “Rock Star”. We don’t need a rock star who is more interested in his career than with the coaches that work with him. Rock stars by nature love the limelight; I’m afraid that’s exactly what we have, a rock star and not a leader.
