I totally get why it is happening - I lived in NY for 43 years and the two-team impact on NFL viewing. It's just that I am annoyed either team is here as it is messing up what used to be good weekly football lineups, and seeing them on the rerun channels amuses me when the ratings are so bad

I think you're overstating the impact. LA stations always showed the Chargers, Raiders, and Rams. If anything, this has brought more televised games to the LA market. Last week there were SIX games televised on Sunday.
If the Steelers win the AFCN this season (and with the weakness of the competition, that could still happen), that should silence Tomlin’s critics.

I was under the impression you couldn't decide to kick at that point anymore, because you're electing to go from the 2 instead of the 15, and you can't decide later to kick.
Ah, that would make sense.
Edit: this article from Florio says they can elect to change, when they made the rule modification two years ago, not sure if that's still true.

Fair, hadn't seen the numbers. It doesn't feel that way watching the game. Almost half of that was on a big push off, and Ben threw two pick sixes targeting Brown with Ramsey all over him.
