They had better not overpay for Trevor Story to appease a moronic fanbase, a rental player who seems to be playing hurt.Rosenthal thinks big moves are coming.

Gallo would have been so much cheaper when I kept pushing for him this winter, something like Clint Frazier and Luis Gil might have gotten it done (Gallo/Frazier had almost exact trade values this winter, I certainly checked enough, heh). He is going to cost a ton now, I would love to have him but I dread the other half of that exchange.I think they are going to trade for Story, Gallo and some random bullpen arm.
I figured Duran, OK losing Hauver, the only untouchables in the system if I was making the decisions would be Jasson, Peraza, Volpe and maybe Medina.
Yup. We've been talking about a big consolidation move for a few years now, and you've been all over why it needed to happen. Is Gallo the best guy for it? I dunno, but he isn't a rental and certainly meets some needs. I'm happy. I'm curious if Cashman has anything else up his sleeve.Damn, Josh Smith too, Cashman with a serious consolidation move.
Now I know why they gave up Gallo.Man, those five plus Schmidt would be a ton of value, no wonder TEX pulled the trigger.
Although it looks like Schmidt isn't in the deal, but there are some exciting names in there for TEX.Now I know why they gave up Gallo.
What? This isn’t basketball.Based on MLB's rankings, it seems like Rangers went quantity over quality. That never works out.
Those mlb.com rankings haven't been updated in a while, they do it after the deadline. NY sold high on a bunch of prospects who seem to be having breakout seasons and held on to the guys they like the most.Based on MLB's rankings, it seems like Rangers went quantity over quality. Yeah, I don't know how accurate MLB's non-updated ranking, but if the highest-ranked guy is truly 14th-best player in the system, Cashman did great. Those mlb.com rankings haven't been updated in a while, they do it after the deadline. Crosspost but you can see the BA writer's take above, Duran is a top 100 candidate and Smith is a bit old but has destroyed two levels this year.Yeah, I don't know how accurate MLB's non-updated ranking, but if the highest-ranked guy is truly 14th-best player in the system, Cashman did great.
I'll buy that. For the Sox I always put more stock in Soxprospects.com than MLB. BA probably better do.Crosspost but you can see the BA writer's take above, Duran is a top 100 candidate and Smith is a bit old but has destroyed two levels this year.
MLB is better than they used to be, but they are the slowest to update of any of the ranking sites, so their rankings are essentially still from this offseason. They will update after the deadline, they said.I'll buy that. For the Sox I always put more stock in Soxprospects.com than MLB. BA probably better do.
Schmidt is rumored to MIN in a Kepler deal, Peraza and Volpe are probably untouchable for now.Now the Yankees have Schmidt, Gil, Peraza, Vorpe, Medina to go do other things.
