Easy for me to say sitting here watching instead of being the one taking the kicks, but it's like the most fundamental thing in taking PKs - you have to put it on goal at least.

Agreed. If momentum is a thing in PKs. Not sure it is, but if it is, 100% right. The US had two chances to bury Sweden in PKs and missed the goal completely both times.
