You can if you're John Lackey*You know what your defense did last night? It pitched 8 scoreless inns and gave up a 3-run HR in the 9th to lose 3 to 2. You don't come off the mound saying, 'we pitched great'.*
This was extremely funny.Haha, caller begging them to play Brunell or McElroy. Francesa: Sanchez is your quarterback. Caller: but he's TERRIBLE!
Sadly this was the exact transcript of his conversations with wealthy Penn State alumni."Hey folks! We've got used kids, new kids, black, white - every make and model! C'mon down!"
Bogar at third, Mazzilli at first, and Cafardo on the bench. Duh."Who's Bobby's bench coach? That's a lonely job... (chuckles)"
Fat Mike's pretty high on Bobby V., though.
"Did Tannenbaum have a book of management cliches in front of him? (in a mocking voice) 'I'm going to measure twice and cut once.' And Rex 'this is how I've always done things.' He's been a head coach for three years, three years!! That was the worst press conference I've ever heard!"He is just teeing off right now. Great stuff
"A guy that will quit on his team with the game on the line. That's a Jet.""Holmes is a Jet. He is what being a Jet is all about. Holmes is a Jet."
Pounding on the press conference.
Paraphrasing:Also...he hinted that with his contract being up after the 2014 Super Bowl...it might be a good time to "ride off into the sunset"...
Zing! After the show, he talks to Newsday about it.
What about a reunion with Russo, now the afternoon host on Sirius XM Satellite Radio? "I would say there's a better chance that the Mets win the pennant," Francesa said.
It’s gotten so bad in the Jets’ locker room that the rookie third-string quarterback is unloading on his teammates.
Greg McElroy, a seventh-round draft pick who spent his first year in the NFL on injured reserve after suffering a thumb injury in the preseason, went back home to Alabama this week and promptly did an interview with 97.3 The Zone in which he trashed the culture of the Jets.
“It’s definitely not a fun place to be, I can assure you,” McElroy said of the Jets’ locker room. “It’s the first time I’ve ever been around extremely selfish individuals. And I think that’s maybe the nature of the NFL. But there were people within our locker room that didn’t care whether we won or lost as long as they got theirs, they had a good game individually. And that’s the disappointing thing.”
McElroy didn’t mention any of those “extremely selfish individuals” by name, but he was responding to a question about the reports regarding Santonio Holmes being a divisive figure in the locker room, and he didn’t say anything to suggest those reports are erroneous.
But McElroy, who was a well-respected team leader with a reputation as a fine scholar-athlete at Alabama, said he loves Jets coach Rex Ryan and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and believes the current coaching staff will turn the team around.
“It’s going to take a lot to kind of come together next year,” McElroy said. “I think the fact that we struggled at times this year really led to a really corrupt mindset within the locker room. But I think we’re going to regroup and I know that we’ll be a better team because of the trials and tribulations this year.”
So right on. You get the feeling Tannenbaum will hang up the phone and say, "What the fuck was that?!"Tannenbaum was totally unprepared for that line of attack - stumbling and bumbling through his answers.
he opens the show replaying a part of the Tanny interview.maybe Tanny will come back for round 2 to explain the recent house-cleaning
I expect FFF will kill the Tanny and the Jets today, and perhaps replay some of last week's interview
It's "Mike's On" and the jingle is exactly same except for that tweak.Francesa just announced that he has to change the name of his radio show (Mike'd Up) because NBC owns the name of the Sunday night show he used to host and CBS & NBC couldn't reach agreement on a deal to let him keep the name. New name/jingle by tomorrow possibly...
Ya, knowing the Rams defensive plays sure helped shut down the Rams offense...oh, no wait, that doesn't make any sense. Well, they sure were instrumental in that Ty Law interception for a TD...no, that doesn't make any sense either. Well, at the very least, we know they were the difference on that last hurry-up FG drive, when the offense calls their play before the defense does...hmm, nope. It's "Mike's On" and the jingle is exactly same except for that tweak.
Oh yeah, and he said Mike Martz was victimized by the Pats cheating in Super Bowl XXXVI. His proof? Marshall Faulk and a bunch of Rams said that the only way the Pats could have beaten them was if they already knew what plays the Rams were running. As if that sort of arrogance itself couldn't have been a contributing factor to their loss.
The only team Francesa admits to being a fan of is the MFY.Isn't Mike a Giants fan? (Serious question - I don't listen too often, forgive me if he's a Jets fan).
And if so, shouldn't Giants fans love Belichick?
