I'll join TB's fire JK brigade if Harris comes out for the 2nd half.
JK has a slow trigger outside of friendlies but he can't possibly leave Wondo in. Right?

It's not just that he's ineffective, but his presence messes up the structure of the team. If the forward line can pose more danger, Argentina may back off the press slightly. With a little breathing room, our midfield won't be so overwhelmed and shitty. Individuals in MF also need to play better.

Right. FJ has also had some giveaways, but they are coming from trying to do something reasonable and things not working out. (Often because Zusi, KB and Bradley are just standing around watching.)

As you said, everyone else is just panicking whenever they have a touch and not even trying to do anything without the ball.
Yeah, such a contrast from Argentina who always have 3 guys in position to give the ballcarrier an easy pass, as the pickup player in the SI article mentioned.

It's crazy but Wondo probably has to come off for a midfielder. Our only hope is to flood the midfield right now and see if we can deny the spaces Argentina are playing in. Dempsey can't lead the line alone but you probably ask him to for 20 minutes and then I really don't know what you do.

I think Argentina is likely to back off the press and just coast to an easy 3-0 win.

I'd take Wondo off but I don't think it really matters. Starting him was indefensible but the larger problem isn't tactics or Wondo so much as being completely outclassed and having many non-Wondo players shitting the bed.

De Gea can't even guard his near post. Did you see him today? It was a great free kick and it'll hardly make Guzan's blooper reel. But he hesitated and it went in on his side. I honestly believe Howard would make that save.

These two teams have not been playing the same sport so far. It's not even chess versus checkers, it's chess and taking a dump on the lawn. Hopefully this is the last time I have to watch Wondo. Ever.

He didn't really hesitate did he? He actually took an almost full hop step towards the other side of the net it looked like.

Nobody saves that. It's like the 2 Payet hit recently. Keeper basically has to cheat right, basically impossible to get back to the very top left corner.

I agree. You can't get beat to that side from 30 yards, even by a perfectly placed kick. Also, Messi's free kicks are incredibly well placed but he does not crush them.

That one I won't blame on Guzan.

Pulisic is getting an introduction to Javi Mascherano. At this point it's all about letting these kids learn what this is like.

The only thin about Pulisic is that he's a dead ringer for the kid who plays Norman Bated on the A&E show.
