Germany has attacked thru the left much more than the first half. Considering the results, they should go back to the
well.
Giroud's run reminded me of Schweinsteiger's run for a goal in the first group game. Looked like they were running under water.Giroud v. Schweinsteiger may be the slowest break down the wing I've ever seen.
This article had some background. I'm guessing that Twellman didn't have things memorized. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jul/07/france-euro-2016-south-africa-world-cup-didier-deschamps-olivier-giroudso to update... Twellman was wrong.
Payet played U-21
Griezmann played every youth level
Giroud did not.
yeah, it's definitely impressive that they had so many late bloomers, I just didn't think he was right about the youth teams since Griezmann in particular is only 25 and was pretty clearly a big prospect in the Spanish leagues by his teens/20s.This article had some background. he had an inconsistent game, much better after the half, but he made some really bad passes throughout (so did Payet). He was very good overall, but he made some bad decisions early.I had a longer response but Ill keep it brief. For those who doubted Pogbas impact in the first half I have two questions:
1) In which parts of the pitch was France pressing?
2) How many chances all game did Germany have through the middle?
I don't know a thing about him nor do I have a well reasoned view as basis, but that guy just doesn't inspire me with confidence in his acumen.so to update... Twellman was wrong.

It was a clean tackle though, CR7 got his spikes stuck. It was your boy Payet playing reckless
Im happy for the game to be more physical but Payet ran right through himIt was a clean tackle though, CR7 got his spikes stuck.
