Don't discount the deleterious effect that the dislocated finger had on Tatum's game. I suffered that injury back in 1995, and the finger has never been the same. Takes a while to adapt to the new normal.
The league made adjustments to him, and he made some of his own. He wasn't sneaking past people with those extendo arms as easily anymore, so now he's taking it at them and finishing through contact. He's starting to make year two adjustments before year one is over. I can't even fathom what a pro offseason program is going to do for this guy.

His three point attempts dropped to 2.1/game in Feb as he adjusted to his injury. He's back up to 4.0/game, which is significantly more than any previous month.
FWIW, his assists are up more than 40% over his previous best month.
There's also this:
The first three times Irving sat out this year — in the first three months of the season — Tatum shot 33.3 percent from the field, 2-for-11 from the 3-point line and averaged 9.3 points. Over the last eight games he played without Irving, Tatum has averaged 18.3 points on 49.6 percent shooting (37.5 percent from the 3-point line).

Seriously, thank for posting that--that's awesome confirmation of the eye test and, well, it's fun finding out these guys really are turning into who we'd hoped they could be.
They should all name their kids Danny and Brad. Girls too. Dannie, maybe?

I’m enjoying the double implication here—that there isn’t a Ewing Effect in play with Kyrie (I mean, they very clearly miss him), and that the young guys have shown significant growth in his absence. I think people aren’t really going to understand how good this team will be at full health until they see it. The starting 5 is going to be non-defendable.
I know the Kawhi and Anthony Davis trade scenarios floating around are far-fetched to begin with, but I've grown really attached to my visions of Jaylen/Jayson world domination in the near future.
