then when would they show Ben Kern??Finau has birdied 7 of his first 8 holes, still waiting for a mention on the broadcast.
Amazing. 11 birdies in 26 holes. Even par for the tourney.Finau has birdies on 7 of his first 8 holes.
He is -4 on the day.
Admittedly, when I heard that on the telecast, I chucked audibly.Jason Day feeling "under the weather" has to be about the least surprising thing Ive ever heard.
And now immediately into the bunker on the Par 3. Tough hole, though.Tiger -3 through 5
They are showing every single Phil putt. We have that going for us.Finau has birdied 7 of his first 8 holes, still waiting for a mention on the broadcast.
Zero pars on the front 9. Don't see that every day.Finau has birdied 7 of his first 8 holes, still waiting for a mention on the broadcast.
Ha! Yeah, me too, for that matterI know I've done it. Many times.
Totally got screwed. He looked like he was in A-game mode yesterday and low numbers were out there. Oh well.Suspended for the day. Tiger can't seem to catch a break, he was playing really well.
I like Phil and always root for him but the coverage of him yesterday and today was ridiculous. He's a non event, they shouldn't give him the Tiger treatment, there is better golf to show.Adios Phil.
Does he even move the ratings needle much?I like Phil and always root for him but the coverage of him yesterday and today was ridiculous. He's a non event, they shouldn't give him the Tiger treatment, there is better golf to show.
One of the commentators made a remark on this during the morning play and speculated that he drives it so far and accurately because he has a really low spin rate (makes sense) hence his wedge trouble is because he has a really low spin rate (also makes sense). But beyond that he’s having a really hard time controlling yardages, so while I think it may be accurate assessment, maybe not particularly for this weekend. It’s amazing how bad Rory’s wedge game is right now.
He's now tied for 10th at -6. He's tearing up the front nine (-8, no hole over par) but is a bit wobbly on the back (+2).And stuffs it close on the approach at 2. Freakout time.
(-1) in rd. 2 on the back this morning thoughHe's now tied for 10th at -6. He's tearing up the front nine (-8, no hole over par) but is a bit wobbly on the back (+2).
He was +3 after 2 holes to start the tournament and he started on the back.(-1) in rd. 2 on the back this morning though
Is this something that’s common? I’ve never really noticed a Fowler/injury type of propaganda. Are you confusing him with Day or have I just missed it?Ha before Fowler even teed off on 1 they started in on the he is not physically right with an oblique strain. I have no issue with the guy as a person he seems like a good dude but it’s crap like that which keeps me from rooting for him. It’s Saturday at a major so there is a good chance that he nose dives again and they are already carrying water for him.
There is always some type of excuse giving for the guy. He is an extremely popular player I get it. He is probably the best player in the world right now not to have won a major. But that’s never a storyline that’s said out loud. It seems like the tv crew is consistently making excuses for him and unable to say anything slightly negative. That annoys me. I’d rather they just call it like it is.... likeable guy, great player, struggles to close in majors. There is nothing wrong with saying thatIs this something that’s common? Agreed. I think he gets plenty of scrutiny.Johnny Miller usually rips him. I think Fowler not winning a major is a pretty big storyline every time he tees it up, and it is covered as such.
Some ugly swings here from Woodland.
I need to start employing that strategy on the course. How many goddam shirts has tiger gone through today, 5?
Me too, but I have visions of Lacava with a wheelie bag carrying around his wardrobe.I need to start employing that strategy on the course.
