It will be interesting to see if during the final few games of the season teams in the Met jockey for the 7th seed instead of the 3rd seed in the Met. Have to imagine most teams would rather play the NYI than the defending SC champs.
Now that we are passed the TDL looking towards FA, if ever there was a player that would warrant an offer sheet it is Brayden Point. Great speed, hands, vision and hockey IQ. If he gets a bit stronger he will be a top 10 C in the league for many years. TB is going to be in a significant cap crunch with around 10M in cap space and needing to replace 2-3 D.
I'd offer Point whatever the max of the 1,2,3 tier is for 4-5 yrs and force TB to make some difficult roster decisions both short term and long term. They have a glut of long term 5+M FWD contracts. No better way to beat your competition than to sign away their 2nd line C for a few draft picks.
