Bruised lung. Seems fortunate all things considered, so hopefully he can return before the end of the season.Pray for Mojo.
Breathe REALLY hard. How exactly does one bruise a lung without other injury?
And what is the treatment/rehab for this kind of injury?
Quick google makes it seem like this one could be a few weeks, but shouldn't be longer than that, as long as there aren't any other injuries attached. Rest and ice.And what is the treatment/rehab for this kind of injury?
IANAD...but by the looks of it, his arm was down, so maybe his arm was jammed into his ribs which hit the lung, which, I assume is a very sensitive innard, cuz no one is usually touching it. And since half the rib is cartilage, not bone, maybe the point of contact wasn't in a place to break a rib. No matter...that had to be painful. How exactly does one bruise a lung without other injury?

That makes sense, I suppose.IANAD...but by the looks of it, his arm was down, so maybe his arm was jammed into his ribs which hit the lung, which, I assume is a very sensitive innard, cuz no one is usually touching it. The first time my kids saw me cry was when I sneezed a couple of hours after a sledding incident in which I cracked rib cartilage.Quick google makes it seem like this one could be a few weeks, but shouldn't be longer than that, as long as there aren't any other injuries attached. Rest and ice.
I once got squished into low boards (Boston Skating Club) by a very large man and cracked the cartilage in my ribs. Then I got pneumonia. Somehow that correlated to the cracked cartilage getting infected.
That sucked.
I’ve never been struck by lightning, but I assume the sensation is similar. The first time my kids saw me cry was when I sneezed a couple of hours after a sledding incident in which I cracked rib cartilage.
https://www.nhl.com/bruins/news/bruins-issue-update-on-matt-grzelcyk/c-305675754BOSTON - The Boston Bruins issued today, March 11, the following update on defenseman Matt Grzelcyk:
Matt Grzelcyk suffered an upper-body injury during the second period of the team's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday, March 10. Although x-rays in Pittsburgh were negative, Grzelcyk has traveled back to Boston for further tests and will not be available for the team's game at Columbus on Tuesday, March 12.
I was wondering about him. He took a check against the glass and sort of glided away from it like he wasn't quite right.Krug not practicing today, might explain the emergency Cliffton callup
Add in DeBrusk and 6 of the top 18 were out. Pretty remarkable that they haven't taken a hit in the standings.MoJo, Grz, Miller and Krug are all skating today prior to practice. Grz with no stick.
Pasta will practice with the team.
Great news. Looks like they will be full Voltron with some games to go before the playoffs.Krug skating again today.
Miller, MoJo and Grz will join the team for practice in Florida. Miller is the furthest away, but it sounds like MoJo and Grz have an outside shot of playing Saturday, with Monday being more realistic.
