Its mystique and aura.I've come to peace mostly with this Yanks team, but I still have no idea how Gio Urshela became a good hitter.
Come to fucking peace? They're evil and horrible in every damn way.I've come to peace mostly with this Yanks team, but I still have no idea how Gio Urshela became a good hitter.
Pretty similar to this pointPeople dared compared this Astros team to the ‘18 Red Sox. Hows that looking
Pretty similar? The Astros got pushed to the brink by a wild card team. The 2018 Red Sox never faced elimination, the Astors have already fallen short of that.Pretty similar to this point
The Sox won in 4, The Astros won in 5, and both lost game 1 of the ALCS at home. Pretty similar to this point.Pretty similar? The Astros got pushed to the brink by a wild card team. The 2018 Red Sox never faced elimination, the Astors have already fallen short of that.
They didn't in 2013 either. The Red Sox excellence is unparalleled. The Red Sox never faced an elimination game through the entire postseason. The Astros already have, against a wild card team. That is a huge difference.
Why are you diminishing what the Red Sox did last year? I don't like that.
He also wasn't great since the Stros acquired him.Greinke has now been knocked around by two AL East teams this postseason. It’s a completely different animal facing these lineups.
They didn't "get to the second round" the same way at all, Houston came way closer to getting eliminated. They already have done worse than last year's Red Sox. That's already in the books.I'm simply saying that at this very point last season, AND in 2013, the Sox were in the exact same position that the Astros are in right now. They got to the second round and lost the first game at home. They also both sucked to start game two each year before rallying to win. If you don't like that, I'm oh so sorry.
That's what you should have said in the first place. The Red Sox excellence is unparalleled.
I think of Greinke as a very good, not great, pitcher. The bright lights have never served him well. He and Price remind me of each other.Greinke has now been knocked around by two AL East teams this postseason. It’s a completely different animal facing these lineups.
One game difference to this point and at the exact same place. Spin it any way you want, dude. They didn't "get to the second round" the same way at all, Houston came way closer to getting eliminated. They already have done worse than last year's Red Sox. That's already in the books.
That's what you should have said in the first place.
You misspelled suspicious. Its really remarkable how the Yankees get these guys who haven't done much elsewhere but show up in the Bronx and rake.
The Astors offense has been asleep most of the playoffs, they woke up for one inning in game 5 and it's been floated that the Tampa starter was tipping his pitches.
Last night a guy who can't break a pane of glass with his fastball dazzled them and naturally the newest, greatest young gashouse gorilla whacked the ball all over the place.
It's no longer a question whether these assholes are winning the WS this year; the bigger question is are they going to lose once along the way.
Oh yeah, the Expos are going to give them a run for their money in the World Series.
Yeah, sure they are.
Don't worry, if Quasimodo or Mongo can't carry you, then Didi, Gio and Glebar will...……………..where the fuck do they get their names too, were Tom, Dick and Harry already taken?
You're bordering on racism so I'll just bow out of this but maybe, you know, if people aren't laughing at your dumb nicknames...it's not funny.Don't worry, if Quasimodo or Mongo can't carry you, then Didi, Gio and Glebar will...……………..where the fuck do they get their names too, were Tom, Dick and Harry already taken?
The newest Gashouse Gorilla up and comer; Gio Fucking Urshela.
Oh well, 2004/2007/2013/2018 are here forever, so there's that.
Racism? You're bordering on racism so I'll just bow out of this but maybe, you know, if people aren't laughing at your dumb nicknames...it's not funny.
Unless Kate's into thatYankees are hot right now, but momentum is only as good as the next starting pitcher. They got a doozy in JV tonight.
I just hope he doesn’t shit the bed.
If everyone remembers last year, the Astros won Game 1 7-2. How'd that work out?Well this thread is getting uh interesting. I think it is premature to call this series over, the astros are still the best team in the league on paper. Really hoping they win but I’m rooting for the nats to win it all. A loss to the stros would be easier to stomach than a loss to the yanks
And I remember when the Yankees won Game 2 of the ALCS and everyone was saying momentum was in the Yankees favor moving into the toilet..If everyone remembers last year, the Astros won Game 1 7-2. How'd that work out?
Brockstar cycle put an end to that. ALDS.And I remember when the Yankees won Game 2 of the ALCS and everyone was saying momentum was in the Yankees favor moving into the toilet..
I don’t think Yankees fans think this but Astros forums right now are pretty negative about the team.Game 1 was as close to a must win for NYY as possible. We won. Now we have to follow through and steal a couple game vs a couple aces. Won’t be easyI know its a form of venting as well as expectations management but I never understand how people think its ok to proclaim a seven game series "over" after one game - especially in baseball.
Momentum, depending on how you define it, isn't really a thing in baseball. Having pitchers who are throwing well is however and it remains to be seen if the Yankees have that yet or the Twins an simply went cold at the wrong time.
It is worth noting that the Yankees traditionally don't lose series with a game (or more) lead but it can still happen.
If Verlander and Cole hold serve twice, Astros win in 7.
Just trying to cheer up the locals after a few were throwing in the towel after game 1.You should go do some Will Hunting shit at MIT
What’s a good Astros message board?I don’t think Yankees fans think this but Astros forums right now are pretty negative about the team.Game 1 was as close to a must win for NYY as possible. We won. Now we have to follow through and steal a couple game vs a couple aces. Won’t be easy
Beats me. I searched “Astros forum” and clicked through game threads on the top two choices. They’re all pretty down on the offense and saying it all falls on JV and Cole. What’s a good Astros message board?
Thanks. That’s what I do too since MLB.com discontinued their boards. They were half decent.Beats me. I searched “Astros forum” and clicked through game threads on the top two choices. They’re all pretty down on the offense and saying it all falls on JV and Cole.
I'm enjoying reading a resign Gerrit Cole thread. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/if-youre-in-charge-do-you-let-gerrit-cole-walk-or-pay-him.301268/Thanks. That’s what I do too since MLB.com discontinued their boards. They were half decent.
Quite a heartfelt plea there. I wonder what Gerrit will do.I'm enjoying reading a resign Gerrit Cole thread. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/if-youre-in-charge-do-you-let-gerrit-cole-walk-or-pay-him.301268/
"He would have to weigh leaving a once in a lifetime situation to go home and play for a team that is light years behind the Astros organization. Ultimately I think he gives the Astros a slight discount and stays. Players around the league would kill to play for the Astros. This is pretty much what it must’ve been like for the Warriors the last few years."
"Seriously, though, Gerrit, we made you, and you'll never be on this good a team again. Give us a friendly discount, so we can continue to surround you with Cy Young winners and MVPs and RoYs and feed you the best 17-course meals of data and analytics while we crank out a few more championships. You can go back to California in a few years just like JV will go back to Detroit in a few years. Stick around for now."
I love how fans assume someone is going to take a home town discount.Quite a heartfelt plea there. I wonder what Gerrit will do.
