Did you miss 2008?Rooting for the Astros over the Rays is like rooting for Darth Vader to kill the Ewoks. Yeah, they're funny looking and aren't very powerful ... but they're our allies in the fight against s massive source of evil
Well they certainly are funny looking; that alternate cap with a ray on it is beyond hideous..............what clambrain in marketing came up with that one?Rooting for the Astros over the Rays is like rooting for Darth Vader to kill the Ewoks. Yeah, they're funny looking and aren't very powerful ... but they're our allies in the fight against s massive source of evil
So the Red Sox win four titles since 2004, and you'd rather whine about a season where they got bounced from the playoffs?Did you miss 2008?
I’m rooting for Houston to win it all and for it to be really awkward and contentious next year.Rooting for the Astros over the Rays is like rooting for Darth Vader to kill the Ewoks. Tampa had the nerve to not lose to the Sox in '08. Bastards. So the Red Sox win four titles since 2004, and you'd rather whine about a season where they got bounced from the playoffs?
In other news, apparently the Rays are to blame for Terry Francona being fired after 2011. I had no idea that Tampa Bay had caused the Red Sox collapseTampa had the nerve to not lose to the Sox in '08. Bastards.
Well, your answer certainly trumps the other anti-Rays sentimentsI’m rooting for Houston to win it all and for it to be really awkward and contentious next year.
Some people just like to watch the world burn...
Yes, I’m not anti-Rays. I’m pro-chaos. I also want to see Correa drilled every other AB next year because it would please me.Well, your answer certainly trumps the other anti-Rays sentiments
Yes. They could have 6 or 7.So the Red Sox win four titles since 2004, and you'd rather whine about a season where they got bounced from the playoffs?

Not me. If he landed on the Red Sox, he'd squash half the team. But I love Choi, man do I wish he'd land on the Red Sox.
Tampa used to be a perennial doormat in your youth so there is hope for the Sox!It would be quite amusing to me for sure that the two 3-0 blowers would be our division rivals. So there's that.
Yeah, but he's pliable................thanks......................one was bad, two was worse, we started with five, are down to one................truly the loneliest number. Not me. If he landed on the Red Sox, he'd squash half the team.
Sorry about your cats.
You definitely want it to go to 7, then I’d say the Astros as their pitching staff is thinner.Who should fans of the Braves and Dodgers be rooting for in this series at this point? (Asking for a friend.)
No, we Rays fans want it to end tonight! You definitely want it to go to 7, then I’d say the Astros as their pitching staff is thinner.
Hmmm. But we know what happened in the World Series for the last team to overcome a 3-0 LCS deficit...You definitely want it to go to 7, then I’d say the Astros as their pitching staff is thinner.
That's a beautiful post.Sports; it's the toy box of life, is it not? Does any of this really matter; are our lives better or worse if our teams win or lose? Whether your team wins or loses, the next day you wake up, have breakfast, get ready for work and off you go......win or lose, the world is no different.
My Dad died three and a half years ago; my attitude about sports has done a 180 since then, sports rank just about last on my "what's important in life" list.
I had a shit day yesterday; two of our cats have had to be put down since this whole COVID shitshow started, we have plots at a pet cemetery for all of them (don't ask; wasn't my idea, but now that it's done, not gonna lie, I'm happy we did it), they only started recently doing burials again, yesterday I had the pleasure of having to see both of them be put to rest............................
That aside; I don't have to rationalize my hatred for the Rays, Devil Rays, whatever they are called. Since they popped up like a pimple on the ass of MLB, they've been nothing short of ants at a fucking picnic.
I don't like them, their shithole of a stadium, their dollar store approach or their beer league softball uniforms; what abomination do they wear on throwback day by the way?
We all have opposing teams we hate; the Rays are mine. I enjoy rooting against them, just like I enjoy rooting against the Dolphins, 76ers and the Flyers, I hate all four of those teams above all others, no rational reason why, I just hate them and if that makes me a bad person, guilty as charged.
Every one of you has a team or two that goes up your tailpipe sideways, it's all part of fandom.
But I love Choi, man do I wish he'd land on the Red Sox................LOVE that man.
If my hating on the Rays upsets any of you, sorry, not my intent, not trying to upset anyone.
I love this forum, it's a massive distraction from everyday life and the banter that goes on here is massively entertaining, it helps me get through shit days.
Days like yesterday.
Thanks; sometimes it feels good to empty out the drawers and vent.......................That's a beautiful post.
It was more than 200ft.Cash hit a ~200 ft. HR out of the L.A. Colosseum as a member of the Sox one spring.
Rays/Devil Rays/(remember Sting Rays?) are totally the Dollar Store of MLB. And the unis can't have both a fish and the sun. Fucking pick one.Sports; it's the toy box of life, is it not?
