To be fair, the Bears are in because of the extra playoff spot this year. Otherwise the last spot would have been the 10-6 Rams.
The WFT/Giants getting in is another matter due to 4 team divisions.
Shula is petitioning the league from the grave as we speak to have Miami moved to the NFC East.
The NFC wild card slate is underwhelming. Would be a sizable upset if the divisional round isn’t GB-Tompa Bay and NO-SEA.
Honestly, not complaining because of Miami, as it’s not like they really beat anyone either...but it’s also probably not a coincidence that 2 of the 3 WC’s are from the North who were matched up vs the NFC East.
CLE has a negative point differential but they have some big stars and 11 wins so they’re accepted as a good team. Meh.
Pats get Cleveland and LAC as the two AFC 3rd place finishers on next seasons schedule, plus the entire AFC South.
NFC South, CLE, LAC, AFC East, and the NFC South. Tompa’s return to Foxboro.
EDIT - I think they play Dallas in the event of a 17th game.

It’s cruel for the Texans that they end up trading what turns into the # 3 pick for Tunsil when Sewell will probably be available at 3.
I think it’s going to be the appropriate nfc East team. So next year it should be Dallas.

Pats would get a 3rd place NFC team. Can’t remember where I read it, but I think it would be NFC East, so the Cowboys.
Gotcha. Adds more difficulty with NO and TB, but all in all that’s a schedule with a lot of wins on it.
Is it? TB, New Orleans, Buffalo twice, Cleveland, Indy make 6 games against playoff teams and 2 with Miami who just missed out. Houston has beaten the Pats two years in a row.
Just coming to say the same thing. They aren't that far away if they can get QB figured out
And that's not to say that Smith isn't any good ... but the chances of of keeping him upright over a full season are slim
We have zero clue who their starting QB is going to be, their front 7 on defense needs a lot of work as do the WR and TE positions.
The days of going down the schedule and ticking off wins are long gone.
