In retrospect, I think the Hawks and Knicks greatly benefitted this season by not having been involved in the bubble last season.
I’m a “players league” type of guy but it seems pretty clear what catapulted the Knicks and Hawks to where they are today......it’s the McMillan coaching change and the Thibs culture.

Do you have a similar take on Brooklyn's chances (round 2 on) since KD and Harden missed so much time? Their big three logged such a small number of games together.
I don’t see the similarities as the Nets don’t have the complacency factor of having won last year.....they still have that in front of them. I’ll say something that you simply don’t ever feel in an NBA playoffs and that is the EC is wide open. Not one, not two, but wide freakin open this year. The Nets should be the favorite imo but we know they are flawed. I’m not a fan of the Bucks at all and some have picked them.....I have them losing to Miami, and the Sixers are well, the Sixers. If ever there was a year where a Miami or other wild result occurred this could be the year.

Didn't the Sixers pick up Alec Burks for a second-round pick at the trade deadline last season?

Randle has surely been incredible especially over the 2H of the season.....but I must have missed that conversation about him as the MVP. Tone is down there big guy.

Yeah. Warriors had begun tanking (with Steph out for the season) and wanted to duck under the repeater luxury tax. Nothing against Burks, whose vet leadership and heady play drew constant raves from Kerr and co. He's been a very good player when healthy for several years now.

He plays for the Knicks and they made the playoffs for the first time in forever. Nothing more needs to be said!

Told the wife in 3Q that this is the type of game we lose our Under bc of OT. Then I had to explain. Then I just had to live it.

Pearl Monroe voice: "Roasted and Toasted."

I don't hate this Knicks team. I still hope they lose and I'm sure I'll learn to dislike them but coach and players don't bother me. Yet.
You are ahead of me. I reflexively dislike all NY teams. Decades of conditioning will take decades to undo.

Tricky spot after these free throws. Do you foul down 3 or take the chance that you can get a stop and score another 3 without Memphis fouling?

Sets up pretty okay for Utah here. Young team, maybe they miss 1, worst case you have a TO left to get the ball at half court and can get a look at a 3.

Honestly not a great foul.

Too much time left and Utah still with a TO.

Foul strategy makes a lot more sense when the other team is out of timeouts.

THIS is when giving a foul makes more sense for Memphis, but tricky to do since Utah will be going up with a 3 quickly.

Brooks, as great as he played tonight, bought the bait and took the 2 that Utah gave him instead of dribbling the clock out. Wow, genius disguise by Snyder. They can tie now.

LOL dont think that was on purpose. Utah wanted to foul ASAP, not give up a wide open layup.

Spike Lee is the best celebrity fan of all time. Fucking love that guy.
True. Out of all the celebrity "fans" Spike comes across as the most authentic and conducts himself with the spirit most similar to a typical hardcore NBA fan. If I had the money for Celtics courtside seats I'd like to think I'd act the exact same way.
