Yeah why are they moving it?That sucks. It should be in Philly every year imo. Full stop.
They move it often actually. It has gone between Baltimore, Philly, and NY for a number of years. I think it's a good idea to move the game around to different areas of the country.Yeah why are they moving it?
It has rotated before but always in the PHL//Baltimore/NYC area. Boston is a haul from Annapolis and all the midshipmen. I imagine this cuts down on the number of members able to attend.Yeah why are they moving it?
Not sure I understand why the Pike would get jammed? This is kinda dumb
Army seems to agree
Would be funny if there’s a traffic jam on the Pike then
can’t they just use M&T or North Jersey or something?
Jax or San Diego I can understand but Gillette?
Nice! This is great considering I live 15 minutes from the stadium. I want to cross this one off the bucket list.
Accidents happen all the time, especially if there's sleetNot sure I understand why the Pike would get jammed?
Nice!
Any worse than any other late season Patriots' game? And why the Pike?Accidents happen all the time, especially if there's sleet
I can see BB announcing his retirement on the 10th.You have to think the Patriots will request to be home that weekend so BB can go.
Probably how Army is going to drive there from West Point, but it also applies to 84 and 495Any worse than any other late season Patriots' game? And why the Pike?
I honestly didn't understand your point. I'm not sure how a December college game at Gillette is going to have Pike issues that a Patriots game against, say, Buffalo wouldn't. Or a Fenway bowl game might have. It seemed an odd reason to suggest this was a bad idea.Probably how Army is going to drive there from West Point, but it also applies to 84 and 495
No, they happen all the time. I think I already said that.
Why are giving me a hard time here?
If you don't understand, just don't reply. It's a bad idea because accidents happen and Army is leaving the day of the game.I honestly didn't understand your point. Sorry but I don't think they'll do the drive the day of the game if the forecast is hazardous. If you don't understand, just don't reply. It's a bad idea because accidents happen and Army is leaving the day of the game.
This isn't a short ride from the hotel.
Certainly. It would be interesting to see who else bid, and what the criteria for ultimate selection was. In any case, Gillette "won".
I don't care what the article says. Army won't be leaving the day of the game. They will leave for the Foxboro area on Friday as teams do for every road game. It's a 200 mile drive from West Point to Gillette and it's an afternoon game.If you don't understand, just don't reply. It's a bad idea because accidents happen and Army is leaving the day of the game.
This isn't a short ride from the hotel.
And edit: yes, it will much more 84 than the Pike. Or I guess they can take 95 most of the way
Forgot how south West Point was.
The road doesn't matter
The exact week doesn't matter
Accidents happen.
Probably should take 95 just in case they have to exit to stay away from gridlock. Many more opportunities on 95 to do than 90 or 84.
The game is at like 2:30 or 3 pm. If it's just the student bodies, they'll leave on buses at like 7 am.It's less moving the teams that's the issue but more moving the student bodies. Army Corp of Cadets and Brigade of Midshipmen all attend.
Here is video of the game played at the Rose Bowl in 1983:They move it often actually. It has gone between Baltimore, Philly, and NY for a number of years. I think it's a good idea to move the game around to different areas of the country.
I don't know about the Gillette game, but here are the USNA guidelines for the 2022 game:My stepfather is a Navy vet. Dude has zero interest in sports, but he's psyched to go.
Anyone know if Vets get extra tix for family? Even get their own ticket? Or do they have to be alum? Also heard that, other than secondary market, you could potentially donate to a booster organization for tickets.
Anyone have any insight for how civilians can get tix?
If given a year and a half to plan getting troops and support staff from West Point and Annapolis to Foxboro is a vexing logistical problem for our future military, political and corporate leaders, we're pretty much fucked. And worries about the cadets and the middies making it to the game seem absurd. They’ve got a year and a half to figure it out, and plenty of resources to travel just as well as they do to Philly, Baltimore, and the Meadowlands.
Is anything alright? They also kind of picked a bad time to announce this. Should have waited until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week IMHO.
I think my point was that it won’t be a logistical problem at all. They'll get everyone to Gillette just fine, and in plenty of time for kickoff. If given a year and a half to plan getting troops and support staff from West Point and Annapolis to Foxboro is a vexing logistical problem for our future military, political and corporate leaders, we're pretty much fucked.
Now we're getting paid, and playing at the Blade
Shout out your best price loud and strong,
But where'er we go, Philly or Foxboro
That the cashflow will go rolling along!
This is why you don't care. Watch 5 minutes of this game and you'll be hooked. Is it possible i am the only one who doesn’t care about this game? I don’t think I’ve watched a snap of the series in my lifetime .
They leave to head to the game at something like 0500 hours or thereabouts. I guess w/the Middies it will even be earlier than that; or they have some alternative to that involving a sleepover. There's a big parade involving both student bodies a couple hours before the game that's a must see.The game is at like 2:30 or 3 pm. If it's just the student bodies, they'll leave on buses at like 7 am.
Yeah definitely. The Middies will come up the night before. They leave to head to the game at something like 0500 hours or thereabouts. This post got me thinking how they fund transportation for students to the Army-Navy game. My understanding is attendance is mandatory which, in and of itself, seems odd that you could make someone’s official place of duty spectating a football game. I asked a few USAMA grads and they do charter buses for the game for all the students and I’m like, that’s gotta be a stretch when justifying that expense but I’m sure they have significant nonappropriated funds at their disposal. Or they use the superintendent’s slush fund. It’s probably not so much the logistical planning but the justification for the funding being used. Government fiscal law and contracting can be a pretty hellish landscape. If given a year and a half to plan getting troops and support staff from West Point and Annapolis to Foxboro is a vexing logistical problem for our future military, political and corporate leaders, we're pretty much fucked.

The cadets travel the morning of the game and return right after the game. Unless they pay for their own transportation. It’s like a 0200 SP when they have to go to Baltimore.Yeah definitely. The Middies will come up the night before.
