Birdie, birdie, birdie finish for Tiger. -2 for the round. Not too shabby.

2-4-3 is a hell of a way to end it for Tiger.

I can't believe he still out drive these guys....

Probably can't keep this up for 4 rounds but a fun 18 holes to watch, that's for sure.

Those three really enjoy each other and it was refreshing to see how they interacted all day.

I've only watched the first two, but the Brooks episode was outstanding. I did not expect what we got from him behind the scenes.
Completely agree. It didn’t make me like him or agree with his decision to go to LIV at all but I at least understood him more. It was fascinating to see he’s really struggling even though he maintains he’s public carefree persona.

Tiger highlights below. Driver ball speed at 177 on multiple drives throughout the round. Above average for tour. Looks like a tour pro out there. He sank a few long ones to close out the round.

First driver of today goes 316, past Rory and JT (both 308). Rory had more ball speed but went further right and got stopped by the rough.

The putter is letting him down today. Missed a 9 footer for birdie on 10, a 4 footer for birdie on 11, a 15 footer for par on 12 and a 5 footer for par on 13.

TOURCAST is sort of neat but it reminds how dumb it is to paywall a sports product on cable and streaming services.

No, I do not want to sign up for Fubo's free trial to put the tournament on for 10 minutes between meetings.

Tiger's speed and distance is mind blowing. Even with the quick turnaround and cold temperatures he's consistently keeping up with if not ahead of JT and Rory. Just roasted one 364 down 15.

Tiger might still be the best iron player in the world.

If he gets his putter back, which I don't think anyone would say is out of the realm of possibility, he can easily win tournaments playing the way he is now.

AND I'M HERE FOR ALL OF IT.

The bad news is he's missing them. The good news is he's hitting lasers almost every hole. Just threw a dart in from 179 to 2 feet 6 inches on 17.
Eagle putt? I’m pissed I can’t watch this anywhere without having to pay extra.

Birdie. He drove it into the fairway bunker on the right.

He's played 8 holes and had 5 birdie opportunites inside 9 feet. That is some ball striking.

He's at least still in the conversation, especially in terms of mid/long-irons and ability to work the ball. I don't think he has slipped there.

TaylorMade put together a few interesting videos with Tiger and other top players. This one with Morikawa is worth watching for the discussion about how he likes to work the ball with his irons and the range of shots he'll hit vs. Morikawa (who seems limited when drawing the ball).

The sidebar about the high spin balls Tiger plays and approach to taking spin off is interesting too. There's another video with McIlroy and Day hitting Tiger's ball around the green and are surprised how much it spins.

He's not even close. He's hit some nice shots, but he's chunked a few irons and hit some dreadfully short.

I would say the mid-long irons are really good. The wedges are not. The chunk was from like 115, then on 3 he flew the green from 80 yards. The darts are coming from 150-180.

Full Swing was really awesome, way better than I was expecting. Most of the golfers come across pretty great, except for Poulter. Even Koepka was illuminating.

Tiger in the process of getting raked over the coals for the tampon prank on JT yesterday. Pretty bad look for him in my opinion. Not really sure what else to make out of it. I think it would be best for him to get out in front of this as quickly as possible and address it in his post round PC.

Leaking oil coming in. He's on the cut line playing his last hole. The cut will probably move to +1 but you never know.

Who cares, it was a private moment between friends.

It def would have been funnier if he handed him a ruler or measuring tape though.
Probably should have saved this private moment for the locker room after the round.

Why? Was it that offensive?

JT screaming "fucking f**" after missing a short putt a few years ago was offensive. This is just silly
To me, no. To others, yeah I could see how it would bother a lot of people. He should have known better. Agree about JT.

To wit, I found out about this via a group chat with 4 of my former student athletes, all females in their mid 20s. 3 of whom essentially wrote the same thing, "what a loser, hope he doesn't make the cut." I don't think they were "offended" to the point of anger, but it's just a dumb move.

Tiger just did the whole putt it into the bunker thing that is never good.
The only reason I’ve never done that is I’ve never played a course nice enough for it to reasonably occur.
The only time I've seen it work is terrible courses that basically have poorly maintained hardish sand bunkers and no lip.
You're talking about putting it out of bunkers, but what Tiger did was putt in to a bunker.

Now obviously there are not many holes in the universe like 6 at Riviera. (If you're not familiar, it's a donut-shaped green with a bunker in the middle.) Maybe Tiger should have played a wedge. I've only seen the badly-cropped Twitter video, so I don't know how realistic that option was.

The wedge was the better play there. OR putting further to the left. He tried to skirt the bunker and really did a poor job with it. Though the announcers were speculating that maybe he putted it in there on purpose with the aim of holing out the sand shot. I don't buy that though.

Anyone have tips for Honda Classic? (When to arrive, parking, what holes to watch, etc)
Considering going next week

Yes, it was stupid and offensive, to a not insignificant % of the public. He deserves the day or two of grief he's going to get for it. It's not a hanging offense, but locker room humor, should, generally, stay in the locker room.

It is beyond belief that some of you think using a tampon, and referencing menstruation, to take a dig at players game, in a high profile, televised tournament is the same as shit talking during your local Saturday round, or is fake outrage. And in 35 years of playing, at a wide variety clubs, I've never had the urge to do that, or witnessed anyone else do that.
