Given the cap ramifications for next year, if they want to retain either Orlov or Bertuzzi, it's a heavy lift that probably involves one or more D-men going out. Even then, it's probably likely they're only able to retain one of the two at most. But if we use Game 4 as a benchmark for next year's roster (effectively assuming Bergeron and Krejci aren't back), 6 out of those 12 forwards are UFA/RFA, and Orlov is the only D-man who is a UFA. And they probably have 6-7M in cap space to work with given the overages that will hit for Bergeron and Krejci this year. My guess is that we probably can't afford either of them, maybe we sign the two RFA forwards in Lauko and Frederic, and then we get a couple Providence call-ups and cheap UFAs to round out the bottom 6, but even that probably requires sending someone out via trade. After next year, the picture is cleaner, once the overages are gone and guys like Reilly and Forbort can come off the books, but next year is going to be tight.
