There was a pretty good discussion about this on the latest Bill Simmons podcast with Ryen Russillo. Simmons said that when people sit courtside, the instinctive thing people do is as soon as they get the ball, they pass it back out, either to a player or official. Ishiba grabbing the ball and tucking it under his arm was strange, and he wanted to put himself at the center of attention. He blamed Ishiba for unnecessarily getting involved. Russillo argued that Ishiba just acted naturally, the ball came to him, he picked it up, and Jokic was the one aggressively coming over and taking it from him, trying to start a fast break, which never would have happened because Okogie was getting up from diving into the seats and the refs wouldn't have allowed Jokic to in bound the ball.

I think owners sit all over the floor. Some sit right at center court, others sit behind the bench, I know Ballmer famously sits under the hoop.
Ryen was out of his mind during that discussion about the Suns owner, who is a little jerk.

He was playing keep away with an NBA player during the game. . . .with the ball. There is no reason or excuse, other than he's a slug. And then he flopped like the little weasel he is, too, after a very very very slight push. Was he looking to get free throws? I hope he realizes he owns the team, he isn't ON the team.

And he also got into Jokic's face, which caused the shove, too.

If they are assigning blame, the little Weasel gets 99.7%.

yeah, as someone else pointed out... there is no way a guy who played D-1 college basketball doesn't know that DEN would be trying to get the 5 v 4 while the Suns guy is OOB, he was trying to slow it down and let his guy get back onto the court

I just mozeyed into the Simmons reddit.

Rusillo is getting universally murdered for his ridiculous take that the weasel wasn't trying to hold onto the ball. It's good to see the internet come together for once and agree on something.

edit.- some more reading on the Simmons reddit. Ishbia is getting murdered by everyone. It's extremely enjoyable. The weasel was on Simmons' podcast last week and talked about how he worked hard and came from nothing and turned himself into a billionaire by working hard and doing the right thing. Turns out he inherited his company from his father and didn't work hard for anything, ever. It was all handed to him. He treated the employees badly, too, of course. His dad donated to MSU so he could be a walk on who didn't play.

Everything he has is because of his father and he only talked about how hard work is why he's been lucky enough to be successful. What a little loser he is. Almost every billionaire sucks. But Ishbia is a special case of suck. Disingenuous little baby who inherited everything he has. At least I have something new to hate.

Read up on the complaints from some of his former employees. There's a lot of fuel for you in those stories.

Oh, I did. Reddit steered me in the right direction. And I am grateful for it.

Everything wrong with Ishbia can be summed up by his playing keepaway with the ball, him trying to swat the ball out of Jokic's hands, and the way he flopped trifecta.

Insecure, petty, a poor sport, and a victim.

The Heat may not be *good* but they have the alpha and personnel to give anyone a series. The Knicks are shooting well tonight and seem to be running in place in this game. Its my view that whomever comes out of the 76ers/Boston series better be ready for a battle even if pundits and records say otherwise.

Lowrie pinning Hart’s arm to him as he goes to the rim to draw the foul. If I weren’t preoccupied with Philly, I’d be pre-aggravated, lol.

Anyone paying attention won’t be sleeping on these guys. They have a formula and it works.

Which is why I am firmly in the "root for whoever is behind" camp. Go Knicks!

I am not Simmons with his Zombie Heat cold sweats in the middle of the night. Boston or Philly can beat this team but as @jmcc5400 notes (and you are well aware), in addition to being tough, they are excellent at finding the officiating line and playing just over it. I honestly admire how the organization seems to consistently focus on those types of players.

They’re kind of like the NBA Ravens to me. Never glamorous but just tough and a bit edgy. Obviously very well coached. I hope to get another opportunity to demonstrate how much I despise Kyle Lowry.

The Heat-Ravens analogy is a great one. Kudos.

Here
We would blow this Heat team out at least twice in a 7 game series, and yet I'd still be terrified.

I hate typing this but regardless of what happens with the 76ers/Cs , a NY win on Wednesday is essential. These two execrable teams need to be as exhausted as possible for the next round.

Spo is the best coach in the league by a wide margin. Butler, Adebayo and a pile of stiffs.
Without Herro, half of their top 8 is undrafted. It’s incredible what Spo and that whole organization is doing.

Yet….I still can’t fucking stand them. Go Knicks

Maybe all of the nonsense talk about "The Bubble" not being a real championship has been used as motivation for the Heat and Lakers to run it back? Live possibility.

Hate typing something? I’m almost as emotionally invested in the Lakers being bounced as I am the Celtics advancing. GO WARRIORS. (*takes shower*)

I am for Golden State but I want all of their core to suffer season ending injuries in the deciding game of this series.

Hey, so whatever happened with Payton Jr. running into the locker room during live play and leaving his team with a 4 on 5 on offense? He's back in the game now. Did he have a code brown?
