This is what happens when you outplay the opponent 4 times through 4 games and only manage 2 wins. Hard to go a whole series without a wire to wire loss.

Is it a cognitive bias, or a general approach by pretty much all refs to let some fouls go if the shot goes in?

I don't know that anything can be implemented other than the league telling the refs to cut the shit and call it straight.

(BTW, I was being a little tongue-in-cheek about "changing the rule" -- I know there isn't one, but, like flopping, this is something that impacts the game that I find annoying.)
Tough to say. I think it might be a little of both, depending on the situation.

Also they're hunting Jaylen on screens and getting good shots off it, either he dies and his man is open or they switch and it's a quick guy on Horford
Agreed. I really think we need to shift to Smart or White as the primary Harden defender again. Philly is getting to run it’s offense without fear of involving our best perimeter defenders because neither guard the guys their offense runs through.

Good stuff tonight. Tatum is 0-6 with a -12 (but still crushing it!) and Malcolm Brogdon couldn’t defend a fucking chair

The good news is I am no longer surprised, nor angry, when watching this team play like this.

Tatum can’t be considered a superstar player with as many No-shows he’s had in playoff games. Two straight games where he directly puts the team in a hole because he can’t do anything on offense.
Wait….you think 0-6 with a turnover and a -16 +/- is bad?

Tatum needs to shoot Kobe a text and ask him to sub in, because I’d take Kobe in his current state over him without thinking twice.

Reed being in has helped on D, TimeLord isn't even coming out on those screens, no threat of the pop, just laying back

big response. liked the double of harden the second he pulled it back for the mid-ranger. Brogdon has been at least somewhat competitive on him the last few possessions. jaylen's handle is looking reallll loose rn.

Finally decided to show up….
key is going to be whether the pick up the D when Embiid is back, a Paul Reed pick and roll or pick and pop is not the same as an Embiid one.

Though, again, Timelord minutes without Embiid continue to be strong defensively.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Hauser for a little bit. They need someone to start hitting away from hoop to open up lane. They are doing good job of taking to hoop, but they are 3 defenders in there all the time.

Maybe Tatum can bandage his face like Pierce post Indy series before the post game.
