Nah, he’s gotten the same looks he gets every game. Just hasn’t hit them. They shouldn’t change their offensive approach because of that.
I love you man and I enjoy your posts but…that’s not true. The layups he’s missed have been relatively uncontested.
Alright I’ll concede. I do think getting him more looks down low in general is good.

More importantly, my posting will be on tilt until this team wins a title.

I’d much rather be the Celtics than Philly right now. It’s a single 24 minute game Philly has to win by 8. I would’ve signed up for that and then some pregame.

I have no idea what to feel here. My initial reaction is we should be up by more than 7…then I look and see that Tatum is 0-10 and Horford is 0-3 and I feel better. Then I see Embiid and Hardens numbers and feel worse

I have faith in Tatum. Keep taking good shots and they will fall.

Team needs to play another three halves of D like that one. The rest will come if they stay focused on that

Remember that thunderous dunk over Lebron Tatum had a few years ago? Tatum should watch that on repeat at the half and unfuck himself
I think one of him or Jaylen needs to go in there and try to put one down on Embiid’s head. It may get blocked but I think it’s worth it

If your MVP candidate is a +1 at halftime in an elimination game, he's hurting the team relative to what he should be doing.

That isn't binary.

...or IS IT?????
I mean, apparently a bunch of posters here would prefer we give Sam Hauser 40 minutes.

I think 7 is around fair, Tatum's finishing has been abysmal, but also in a way that feels like bad luck more than good defense. Harden and Embiid feel more like they had tough shots... but I also think they didn't commit to the PnR looks that they did so well last game, have to think they bring that back and improve... also Al is probably going to foul out, and then Embiid will feast.

I'll mention one thing, just in the spirit of communal sharing. I watch virtually no NBA anymore, and had the Bruins not shat down their collective leg, I would be watching a lot less than I have been the last two weeks.

Because of that, I have literally never seen more than one or two games where Tatum Goes The Fuck Off.

But I "hear about it" a lot. So I am coming in with an expectation of something I just haven't seen.

People can complain about his shooting struggles. Calling for his head is different and completely disconnected from the totality of his contribution on the floor. That he needs to shoot better doesn’t mean he is hurting the team or needs to be benched. Life isn’t binary.
I saw Pedro Martinez give up five runs in the first inning and they took him out. Same thing with Clemens: eight runs in two and they took him out. We should have a really comfortable lead.

Tatum's an MVP candidate and has been complete dogshit offensively. And any time people have the audacity to complain about it in a game thread, there's a few posters that can't deal with it and lash out like it's insane to bitch about the fact we have an MVP candidate that has been complete dogshit offensively.

It's weird.
People complain when he is on Tucker to save himself offensively then they complain when he's killing it defensively while his offense suffers. People like to complain. 1H plus/minus? Seriously lol

Being up 7 in this game feels a little like being up 2-0 early in Game 6 vs the Penguins in 1991.

I’m trying to take encouragement from the fact that, relatively speaking, this Sixers team is dogshit compared to that Penguins team.

Yeah maybe. But there's off days like yesterday. I'd think getting shots up might be more useful. But also what the hell do I know
Playing a game like basketball, you have to work out on more than just off days to maintain that muscle...and we expect him to work on adding mass. I assume you don't want his strength to slowly wither away.

The weird thing for me is Tatum is missing layups too. They’re contested, sure, but it seems… weird. That has to regress to the mean, right?

Right???

I'd like to see him actually dunk one. Start with a no brainier.

Lifting before the fuckton of cardio that is an NBA game is the exact opposite of the way to "gain mass".

Only good thing... Tatum not letting the terrible shooting effect decision making, good pass there

Maybe Tatum would get an easy bucket if he decided to move around off ball for once in this series.
