I stand corrected. When you find a talent such as that, you extend the ever living fuck out of him. Thank you.He walks and hits singles vs lefties. He’s slugging .315!!!
For a time he was hitting lefties I guess but he has been an abysmal baseball player. Extremely easy upgrade spot next year, at least.I know we signed Refsnyder to a lucrative 1 year 2 mil extension, but what the fuck does this guy do? He has no versatility on defense. He couldn't hit righties ever. And I can't remember the last time he hit anyone period.
It's a very dark night. The only good thing about this loss is listening to how sad Orioles announcer Kevin Brown sounds announcing that the Rays have won. Not that it makes a difference since the Orioles are winning.
But why waste money on extending him for 2024?For a time he was hitting lefties I guess but he has been an abysmal baseball player. Extremely easy upgrade spot next year, at least.
Well obviously I missed that. That really bums me out. Low cost to dump him though. But why waste money on extending him for 2024?
It's only two mil, but I could definitely see a world where they come up to a spending limit sooner than anticipated and are two mil shy of making a signing. It's just the general shape of things with the organization right now. Or the shape of my mood. Probably just my mood. But why waste money on extending him for 2024?
Out of curiosity, why should we stop hoping to make the playoffs?Fuck Jansen. That should stop all wildcard talk. Please?
This is what’s so basic to me. The starters not giving you innings will destroy any bullpen. I don’t get blaming Cora here. Bloom failed to get starters that actually can perform. The story of the game was another start of less than 4 innings. All the relievers were going to be used, no matter what order. I hope TBD can go 7 tomorrow.
This. When you are using your pen so early, so often, you are proper effed. The story of the game was another start of less than 4 innings. All the relievers were going to be used, no matter what order. I hope TBD can go 7 tomorrow.
A golden opportunity for what? A mindless appearance in a wild card game or mini series or whatever the heck they do with additional WC teams. The Rangers are in an absolute freefall and can’t capitalize on a golden opportunity.
I didn't think the Yankees would continue to play terribly for the rest of the season, but I did not think they would sweep the Astros. Now we'll be lucky to hold off MFY
They would get the Twins. Very winnable series.A golden opportunity for what? A mindless appearance in a wild card game or mini series or whatever they do now with the additional WC teams.
If I have no hope, nut punches seem to not land so directly. That's a positive for me. Everyone can do whatever they want. It just feels kind of silly. They play hard, but they're incredibly dumb, lack attention to detail in most facets and don't have much of any talent in the rotation apart from Bello. A ton of their problems go away if their starters could average 5.5/6 innings, but they're light-years from that. They constantly reveal who they are, and Ive routinely and willfully overlooked their fuckery. That's my mistake, but I'm over it with this group. Ill follow now simply because the dark cold days of January and February aren't too far away, and I'll think a lot about any kind of baseball, even bad baseball, but that's about it. There kind of hopeless as presently constructed.Out of curiosity, why should we stop hoping to make the playoffs?
Two wild cards in the NL made the NLCS last year.A golden opportunity for what? A mindless appearance in a wild card game or mini series or whatever the heck they do with additional WC teams.
Paxton turning to dust has been an unfortunate turn of events. This is what’s so basic to me. The starters not giving you innings will destroy any bullpen. I don’t get blaming Cora here. Bloom failed to get starters that actually can perform.
I admire your positivity. I really do.Two wild cards in the NL made the NLCS last year.
Not saying this team would really have a shot... but absolutely "just get in" works in MLB more than you'd think.
He probably could have used a little time off, but unfortunately, that's when we were regularly starting 2 openers and couldn't afford it.Paxton turning to dust has been an unfortunate turn of events.
Help is on the horizon!!!He probably could have used a little time off, but unfortunately, that's when we were regularly starting 2 openers and couldn't afford it.
Getting your opening day starter back has to be a boost!Help is on the horizon!!!

Corey Kluber to begin rehab assignment Friday, aims to rejoin Red Sox soon
I know everyone stopped paying attention to them but they have won their last 8 including a sweep of houston. They were a couple of rookie callups from being the powerhouse everyone expected at the beginning of the season. Who figured that. Now we'll be lucky to hold off MFY
Not quite. They did lose the one game to Detroit in their 4 game series with them. Still, 7 of their last 8 is very good. Also their starting pitching has stabilized [Severino] and their bullpen has always been consistently good. Their main problem has been their offense, they have been not good for awhile. The young guys who came up and started mashing seems to have revitalized the veterans, who are doing a lot better right now.I know everyone stopped paying attention to them but they have won their last 8 including a sweep of houston. At this point we might be lucky if they dont squeeze into the playoffs.
