I know you guys hate the Trop, but after being blacked out for 10 of 13 games, I am just happy to not have to fire up the VPN until they play Texas in a couple weeks.

Keep winning please. It keeps the slim playoff hopes alive and it pisses off people who are rooting for the Sox to fail like opposing and some Sox fans.

The Trop does suck but man is it nice to sit on the dugout for $100. Its reputation (which I agree with) has made it the best value I have found in the 4 majors.

Curious, do you bring one of those wedge shaped back supporters, or do the Rays provide you with something like that to make sitting on a flat surface for a few hours more comfortable?

This Red Sox team is hard to wrap my head around. Every time they are going bad, they'll rip off a few games of solid baseball.

When they are rolling, they'll hit a wall and look dead in the water.

I am done getting worked up about getting to the playoffs. I want to see clean, hard-nosed, and most importantly HEADS UP baseball the rest of the way.

There is something I will never, ever get tired of - beating the Rays at their barn. I am buckled in and ready for this ride.

Game 139
Though the first inning proved to be a flop,
the Red Sox bounced back, the offense showed pop,
and by the end, the good guys were on top.
Can we keep it up? There’s no time to swap
wins for losses if we’re going to lop
games off of the race, so that we can hop
over two teams which would cause them to drop
out of the playoffs, so that we can plop
into the third spot. (That would be a bop!)
It’s still a long shot. I’m not ‘bout to shop
for World Series swag like some foolish fop,
throw my hands up like that one bullpen cop,
or dream of defeating the Braves and their chop,
but I will hope that we don’t play like slop,
that we can hang tough, and that we can mop
the floor with the Rays, and thus maybe crop
the lead a bit more. There’s no need to stop.
Try to take game two today at The Trop.

Is it just my perception or does Devers have short arms? Saying this as someone with arms that are 3" longer across than I am tall, he has a slight pidgeon foot run too

I once had it explained to me how to look up Casas' #s against lhp vs rhp. But of course, I forgot. Would anyone with that info at his/her fingertips please post it? Also interested in Masa's #s. TIA, ITP.

Thanks very much. I will try to remember the method. Unfortunately for me, I have trouble deciding which of those categories is most important, OBP, SLG, OPS, TB, etc. And in Casas' case, it's really a tale of two seasons.

All 3 baby Sox are in the line up tonight. Here's hoping they make the best of their collective opportunity. Let's get F lin early and often.

I heard somebody explain once why shorter arm guys make better power hitters. Maybe it was that guys with arms that are too long, when they swing, the force drives the sweet spot of the bat toward the outside of the strike zone. I don't know why they wouldn't just get further from the plate if that were the case. Anyway, I've only heard the length of arms related to power theory once. If Raffy has short arms, though, maybe a reason he has the powah!

I don't think Triston has short arms though.

I have a particular dislike for the Rays so carry on as you were.
What used to make it harder was I played for a team called Rays in England ( Botanist John Ray not the fish ).
We got too old and sadly were no more after 2012.

I feel like Raffy is a couple steps away from being a player worth 30M. The problem is those steps are very hard to obtain at this point:

-Defensive drills over and over on the basics
-Figure out how to be more selective at the plate
