The fumble, the crazy catch off the defenders facemask, and the Lions receivers inability to catch the ball in the 3rd quarter.I mean, the fumble is really what turned this game.
Or if they went for/made fourth and goal instead of kicking the FG at the end of the half. Round and round we go….Now if they had kicked either one of those two FGs...
Bingo. Better to call a play then call the TO.It would have been smarter to kick a field goal on third.
And when the run didn’t work they should have just run the fourth down play even if it took 30 seconds.
They took the timeout and ran a play anyway. On fourth down?
is that true? did teams just get way better at it or was there a rule change?Too bad onside kicks are virtually impossible to recover now.
Yeah, I know but I am so rarely right I needed to have my blind squirrel moment.Quoting yourself. Loss of down.
Rule change. At least one was no running start.is that true? did teams just get way better at it or was there a rule change?
No more running start for kicking teamis that true? did teams just get way better at it or was there a rule change?
It’s not so much the run call as it is the TO. Whatever time they would have lost in setting up to run the next play isn’t worse than the 40 seconds where they couldn’t stop the clock when they were out of timeouts and SF had the ball back.Johnson should be ROASTED for that run call.
rule change some years agois that true? did teams just get way better at it or was there a rule change?
They changed rules so the kickoff team can’t load a side up. It’s like 2% successful over the last couple years.is that true? did teams just get way better at it or was there a rule change?
Rule change. I think teams were like 2/42 this season? They said it during one of the broadcasts today.is that true? did teams just get way better at it or was there a rule change?
Yeah, you’re right. They took the timeout and ran a play anyway.
That’s what I meant. Unclear post by me.It’s not so much the run call as it is the TO. Whatever time they would have lost in setting up to run the next play isn’t worse than the 40 seconds where they couldn’t stop the clock when they were out of timeouts and SF had the ball back.
I was told the timeouts were pointless last weekWell unlike TB last week, play it out and force a good punt. If they can get a stop at all.
A lot of kicking game plays are now just much less violent. The change to the offsides is among the worst the NFl has ever done.
Sure, but why was that the smart move then, and the dumb move in the third quarter?Or if they went for/made fourth and goal instead of kicking the FG at the end of the half. Round and round we go….
