Fun three-ball factoid: Steph and Klay recently passed 7,000 combined career threes made (now at 7,060). **All the players in the NBA from 1979-84** (the first five years of the three ball) combined for just under 6,000 threes.
That is fun. But, honestly, you could tell me that Steph and Klay have more combined threes than all NBA players before 2000 and I'd probably take a beat and then just nod in agreement. Nothing can surprise me any more with the way the game has changed.

Memphis has more guards than I can count. Of course most of them are injured.

Came to post the same thing. Interesting. It would have to be to a top team for him to go.

East All-Stars:
JB
Mitchell
Brunson
Bam
Randle
Maxey
Banchero

good thing they do the captain thing because the East would get run out of the building
The west 3rd team is better than the east 2nd team

Would have been nice for Derrick White to make it but not sure who he bumps out from that list.

I'm sure he'll return in tip-top shape
Had this though too. His conditioning has never been good. Add a bum knee and how much will he really be able to contribute? Sixers may be better off just punting this season. Get a 3rd star and see how it goes next year. If they fail again, trade Embiid and start over.

I don't know the rules exactly, but does JB replace Embiid in the starting lineup? He was 4th in EC frontcourt voting (tied with Banchero, but fan vote is the tiebreaker and JB was far ahead there).

If the East replaces big with big, they are going to be digging a while. Their decision will be Myles Turner or Kristaps most likely.

Edit: but would love if they went with D White. Who stays on defense long enough where you need a big protecting the rim anyway?

Buh bye MVP
Yeah.

If the injury isn't too serious, the 76er's might actually be somewhat relieved that Embiid will have plenty of time to recover before the playoffs and won't have the opportunity compete for MVP.

I'm a Knicks fan, but I'd still love to see a healthy and rested Embiid in the playoffs.

Hope the injury isn't too bad.

Healthy and rested maybe, but nothing in his history suggests that he'll be back in a timely manner, or that he'll be in great shape when he gets back. It's hard to really say until we get an actual timeline, but if he's back as soon as mid-March, that would probably be ideal. Any later than that and he won't have time to get back in shape.

Plus Philly is awful (3-9) without him. Even with their cushion (5 games ahead of Miami in 7th) it wouldn't shock me to see them drop all the way to the play in, if a few teams on the fringe start playing better.

Meniscus tears are so variable there is no way to predict anything with close to certainty without more info.

Could be anything from non-surgical, wait a week or two and see how he's doing.... all the way to needing a meniscus repair and being out 6 months.

Sounds like they are trying out option one first but who knows how hopeful they are. At least, for Embiid, it wasn’t announced he’s finished so there is a chance.

TL tore his meniscus on 3/27/2022 and three days later he had a partial meniscectomy. He returned less than 4 weeks later, but was obviously (to our eternal torment) never 100%. That's all i got.

it helps them strategically at the deadline as well if JoJo's seasonal status is largely unknown

Are they required to report at some point if he's out for longer than a game or two (meaning if they know today's he's out for the season, how long could they keep it quiet)?

What is the record for most points in a game with 0s across every other stat?

Maxey is on 18 through 9 minutes I hope he goes for gold here. Do something special tonight Ty.

0 fouls even. A 0 +/- may be too much to dream for.

Shit he just picked up a foul, 26 0 0 0 0 0 1 +4 now.

Edit: First rebound, the dream is dead, can still get 0 assists though.

Allan Houston once scored 37 points with 0 rebounds/assists/steals/blocks. He did turn the ball over 4 times and had 5 fouls.

Michael Redd once scored 29 points with 0 rebounds/assists/steals/blocks/turnovers/fouls. And he did it in just 20 minutes (or maybe that helped, less time to fill up the box score) off the bench.

*edit - most points without an assist is difficult. Wilt once had 73 points with 0 assists.

Refs absolutely blowing this Knicks game.
Yeah, NY was getting hit a lot on drives with no whistles, but also they couldn't buy a three pointer most of the game, they missed seventeen in a row at one point. They got a break that Halliburton hit his minutes limit (22) midway through the third, same as against BOS, and didn't come back. Brunson with another monster game despite constant doubleteams, and an incredible team rebounding effort (60-44 NY), led by Hartenstein (19), the increasingly energized Precious Achiuwa (16) and another double digit effort from Josh Hart (12).

East second team would be what?
Brunson, Mitchell, Jaylen, Randle, Bam

West third team is what? We need to include 3 guys who didn't make it so...
Murray, Edwards, PG, Markanen, Sabonis?

Probably right that the west 3rd team is better

I’m not even counting Edwards or PG who made AS
Just Sabonis, Fox, Markanen, Murray and I guess one of Sengun/Chet/Wemby

He seems committed to it.

In fairness I don’t want him passing the ball right now unless he’s triple teamed!!
