Is it my imagination or does he not look at the ball when he swings? When he doesn’t swing he follows it to the mitt but when he swings he finishes the swing looking at the pitcher.

I had a kid in youth baseball who was so nervous he wouldn't swing. So I told he had to swing at every pitch or he would run.

Maybe batting Bobby 5th is an encouraging sign that they'd be ready to pinch hit with Devers as soon as a righty reliever is in the game. That's all I've got.

Dude is hard to figure. He swings at some absolutely horrible pitches and then seems to be afraid to swing and miss at pitches he should be trying to protect against.
Bello at 77 pitches. Completing the 5th is possible - but better if he can go further of course.
Injuries, like the ones to Story and Devers, are serious as all get out, and make the difference between acceptable and not.
I never really embraced the idea that cross-season streaks had any validity.
Why do you think they do?
