Miami (oh, Miami!)
. . .were proposed to drop equally fast, despite their different weights, provided they were carefully released at the same time. And so it was.

Word has it that David Hamilton has finished confirming this famous (thought?) experiment. No cats were killed. No more balls need be dropped.

Let us observe and see what happens.

Bello day game. Gotta give people adequate lead time to panic.
I posted this in the Bello thread after his outing against the Orioles.
One bright spot today was the performance of Bello in a day game against a very talented Orioles team. He went 5.1 IP, giving up 1 ER and 2 unearned, thanks Duran*, on 89 pitches.. He also threw 15 first pitch strikes to 23 batters.
*he gave up the two unearned runs when Duran, with two out in the fourth, dropped a fly to left that loaded the bases. Cowser then hit a double that scored the two runs. He then gave up another hit before Kemp popped out to end the inning. The error also added nine pitches to his pitch count.
That being said, fuck it, let's panic.

Uh oh. Day game for Bello.
I believe last season’s splits were noise. Win today and prove it…. Also would really help wash away that lingering taste of losing 4 straight.
I believe ‘24 Sox are better than ‘23 Sox, so beat inferior teams regularly…. Play .500 against the O’s, MFY’s, Astros types and you’ve got yourself a nice little 86 win season!

Eff the Angels. If you can't be a championship caliber team with Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani I'm not interested in seeing you do anything other than lose and lose and lose. Even if your manager is somehow a legendary defensive coach.

Now that Masa has started hitting, you put sure-out Dalbec in front of him?
I don't get it except for handedness, but if that's an issue, why bat Reyes in front of O'Neill?
Don't get it, but
Geaux, Sox, anyway.....

I'll take it over what the Angels are doing putting two of their sub-mendoza guys five and six I guess.

Yeah. It’s weird. You could lawn bowl the ball to Bobby at this point and it would be a K.

A win today puts them onapace for 91.
A loss makes it 81.
So todays game is really worth 10 wins.
Might as well win.

No wonder they make so many errors; they're used to having nine guys playing the infield during practice
Batters practice with the weighted bat, so the real one feels lighter.
Maybe fielders should have golf balls batted at them in practice, so the real ones look bigger and slower.

Dalbec has a career OPS of .833 vs LHP. Masa is .716. As Yogi said "You could look it up."

Dalbec's overall OPS is .731, which surprised me (being that "high").

If career numbers were the right way to look at this, shouldn't they just sign Manny Ramirez? He's better than both of them.

When it comes to the Sox, I am more interested in What Have You Done for Me Lately.
On the other hand, I'd be thrilled if Dalbec started hitting, of course.

"What have you done for me lately" is this board in a nutshell. Thank God the GM doesnt only think that way.

Im pretty confident Dalbec will get going against LHP, one night or another. And he'll still strike out a ton, of course. Doesnt mean hes worthy of a 40 man spot and he's in a bad rut but the guy has a good track record there

Yep. It's all over MLB, league wide sponsorship. It has been blowing my mind since day 1.
Already had an amusing exchange on this in a game thread:

If I wanted to build a submarine, who would I contact?
Portsmouth naval shipyard
Just planning ahead in case I become a nation-state or something. I mean, you never know. Do they have a website?
Your guess is as good as mine.
Electric Boat. HII does build them as well, but EB is who you call.
Do they have a website?
Yeah, I think Portsmouth stopped building new subs years ago. Just did repair from then on.
Oceangate? They have a website
(I take it a lot of you don't have visuals to the game.)

7:00 am start and Bobby V. handles the pregame for the Angels broadcast. Not who I want to see or hear first thing in the morning. He’s the Tom Caron of the Angels.

BTW, I hate these fucking unis.
