Timing is hard... but it's just the immediate jump to defend Wilson... how does Wilson always have this defense by announcers...

if marchand laid that hit on someone, the announcers would be questioning it right away, and wouldn't immediately jump to defense before even seeing the replay.

That is the point. They defended him because it was a clean hit. They even made mention of his history and how theres an immediate move to discredit him because of his history, but this was a good hit.

I disagree. His elbow came up through the back of his head and he finished an unnecessary check on a player in a compromised position. Marchand would get an in person hearing for that, and he'd deserve it.

Hathaway will probably get Player of the Week honors for it.
