I'm not going to go all 'conspiracy theory' here and say that games are fixed / rigged / rehearsed...whatever you'll hear on sports radio and from random strangers in a Dunkin' Donuts...

But you'd think the NBA Leadership (after reading that L2M report) would be more cognizant of the scores of people that look sideways at their officiating (even in the face of replay review).

Furthermore, you have Tweets from the sport's biggest star since Michael Jordan questioning the performance of the officials and "this call in particular".

I don't care how you feel about LeBron / think he's a crybaby etc.

This is one of the most iconic athletes of the last 50 years openly questioning the officiating in his own sport --- that he "still" currently plays and thrives in.

That is unheard of.

Is that saying that the KP foul itself wasn't reviewable, or that the foul couldn't be reviewed automatically. So could JM have called for a review of the foul (I don't recall what his review counter was at)? And then was saving the T.O. a better play than a 50/50 chance on overturning the KP play? I think so. I am just thinking out loud here
It couldn't be reviewed automatically, they put that part in because they did go to an automatic review, but it was only to check the clock to make sure the foul came before the clock went to 0, they couldn't change the foul as part of that. If the Cs still had a challenge (I don't remember either if they did) they could have challenged it.

Video link in the report suggests that Cs did not have a challenge left.

I like the Jays being noisy about it. Good leadership for them to put themselves out there. In general, it's hard to find a player on the team that isn't above-average on the likability scale. Losing TimeLord was bummer from the pure entertainment point of view, but JB's dunks are great for supplying highlights, and KP seems to have a similar amount of fun. Obviously, winning is entertaining, but I think the Cs have also done a good job of assembling a team that is easy to root for.

Agree with Tatum. Somehow the report is even worse than expected.
I still can't get over this. Was listening to Karalis' podcast this morning and his guest (Tom Westerholm, formerly of MassLive) posited that the NBA looked to wash its hands of responsibility by somehow determining that head contact can be incidental thus justifying the overturn, while functionally making the Porzingis call Boston's fault by burning their challenge early. It's cynical but also entirely believable.
