I really think this team would be at it's best with Stevens and Svi taking PP and Hauser's minutes, and I've thought that since the preseason

If people were still into only looking at box scores in the morning paper, man would this game look way more competitive than played out with the starting units in there.

This feels like a Moneyball old-timey scouts thing as I’m typing it but Svi has a very confident stroke. Seems like the best bet to have a random Joe Harris style breakout that could actually lift the bench’s floor.

Good defensive reading of that play, too! Free Mykhailiuk!

Good win even though the bench was ass. We'll have a lot of these blowouts to get these guys some run and sort out who can play.

I've seen enough of Kornet for a long while. Hope Queta gets healthy.

The bench is comprised of complementary players that fill roles with 2-3 starters on the floor. If we put in a full bench unit, there’s nobody who can initiate and offensive set. It’s like the Process Sixers that had to go out and trade for Ish Smith so they could run an NBA offense.

Pritchard is just too small. Sad but true. Everybody stays hom when he drives since every single guy on the floor can block him.
I love the guy's energy and effort. He generally is always in the right place too but what you say is the inescapable truth. Players with his profile have to be able to do something at an elite level. He hasn't found it yet imo and his small stature leaves him as a weak link in most lineups.

He can’t defend a chair but how much does that matter when he’s on the floor with 3 or 4 starters? They can hide him.

Yeah, to me Svi and Stevens look like basketball players, not specialists like PP and Hauser. Hauser and PP are probably better suited when they're on the court with 3 or 4 starters, but Svi and Stevens with 1 or 2

If only he were 4 inches taller he'd basically be... Desmond Bane. Ugh, that one makes me almost as sad a N'Keal Harry over AJ Brown...

AJ Brown/Harry hurts way more imo. The delta between Bane and Pritchard is massive but the gulf between Brown and Harry might as well be the gulf between Brown and a tree stump.

The chair catches a lot of shit but its baseline level of effort is better than what I saw from some of the Wizards starters and all of the Celtics garbage time squad.

There's a fair number of chairs who would represent the Wizards best defensive big-man

One thing I did like from the bench—while his offense is bad, Oshae was out there doing the same balls-to-the-wall energy stuff in a blowout as he was when the team needed a pick-me-up against Miami.

From a pure talent perspective, it's not close. But I don't think AJB on the Pats makes them a contender. Swap Bane for Pritchard and there's a real chance we're talking about going after banner #19 this season...

That’s supposed to be shooting but it doesn’t seem like that’s been the case over the last 2 years.

If he can’t shoot, he’s less than worthless

I'm not concerned just yet - Mazzulla seems to have him on a short leash. But it certainly bears watching.

Again, I dont see the problems with Hauser yet. He is going to have ugly lines here and there.

Los Angeles by way of Roxbury
Highlights:
Jaylen Brown, 36/6/2 - 0 turnovers
Jayson Tatum with a quiet 33/6/3
All starters were at least +27
100 points from the starters and 32 assists

Lowlights:
Pritchard, 0-8 (0-6 from 3), team high 4 turnovers
Hauser, 3-10 (22% from 3)

Celtics shot 35.8% from 3, although much of that brick laying came in the 4th quarter.
They held WAS to 30.6% from 3, which was a nice change from the first two games.

Never knew how much I needed Jrue v Poole in my life
Jordan Poole is wearing the Holiday collection this evening.
This got some laughs from me, especially after Poole decided to try and do a tough-guy bit on Porzingis who just chested up to him, looked down and grinned.

And then Scal said something like "...and look, Poole's not gonna fight. I mean, we've all seen the video."

Nice game tonight, Jaylen. Where was this during Game 2 of the 2017 ECF?
At least we didn't show up to the arena dressed all in black and tell the press it's because we were "attending a funeral", and then proceed to lose what would've been the clincher.

I thought the magic number for unsafe lead for us New England fans was 28-3 = 25 points.
When we're playing New York teams, though, it's 32 points.
