Oh yes, Jrue going 0-2 killed them and not the collection of bricks from Brown.
….yeah, it did? I mean in that situation, to miss 2 is completely fucking inexcusable.

If Jaylen did that, I can only imagine what would happen here (and from you)

What a dead play to run there too. He’s not even moving toward the rim. Even if it isn’t so obviously read I bet he doesn’t even get the shot off

I think that's malpractice not to hunt Lamelo. He's their whole team! Gotta get his man in the pick and roll. There was just nothing going to the rim in the last 5 minutes or overtime. I don't get it.

What a choke job, so similar to some from last year. Team still has no killer instinct. They coast for too many stretches
I mean, they weren’t gonna have ANY games like this? No killer instinct in November on the second leg of a back to back?

Ugh whatever, no point in this, I’ll just wait for the other post everyone knows is coming in the main subforum thread. Actually, no, no I won’t.

I mean, every team has losses like this. It only feels worse because the team has a reputation. The reality of the season so far is they actually have shown lots of killer instinct. Which is why their record is so good.

Meh, 2-1 road trip in 4 days, whatever. Took a ton wrong (including Tatum two missed layups, one just magically rimmed out) to lose.

I think I’m more annoyed that they had to expend a shitload of effort against a putrid Grizzlies team last night. No excuse for that and it’s how guys get worn down. Haven’t been able to step on a mediocre or worse team’s throat in a while.

I didn't see that. I saw him yelling at his players to get into defensive coverage. If he also yelled at the refs before that, then I'm just wrong.
Yeah, he was trying, and it's dumb that he has no outlet to make them look at it. Sorry though, was a little too aggressive in response ha

Someone earlier said it was the Hornets Superbowl but if you listened to Pardon My Take, you know that's a salty fan's response to a loss. This is more like the Hornets best win of the early season. Let's see a rematch with DWhite back and the entire team not bricking from the line because they are dog tired.

Unikornet was +25 in 11 minutes!
What a great worthwhile stat. I think +20 of those were from him standing in the paint as Pritchard went nuclear in the 2Q. Was it his calm eyes that allowed Pritchard to get into his comfort zone against McGowens?

Second night of a B2B also doesn’t excuse the parade of bricks from the line. These guys are some of the best conditioned athletes in the world. They should be able to make their FTs even if it’s the second game of a B2B.

I would rather be without Jaylen than White for a single game, if I had to choose in a make belief hypothetical.

Yeah, that was me. Not salty at all. Just a joke in my household whenever a Boston team loses. I thought Charlotte played tough and I agree with everything you said. Also, what a ‘Pardon My Take’?

Still pretty irate that they revoked the foul on Hayward despite multiple clear points of contact before getting even close to the ball. With the elbow tabs that they call all the time? Absolute batshittery.

If it was a no-call on the floor, fine, but it wasn’t. Hate when they just make shit up on the fly.

Charlotte scored on their last 4 possessions in regulation, with two offensive rebounds playing a big part. Just a total collapse down the stretch that everyone contributed to.

Clearly a step slow all night on any kind of loose ball/rebound situation. Except for the human missile Brissett.

Tatum, White, Porzingis, and Holiday can contribute if their shot isn’t falling. When Jaylen’s shot isn’t falling he is a massive net negative. Actively killed them tonight.

I have no idea why he played both games after a groin thing two nights before. Kind of odd not to take that opportunity for a rest day.

He just needs to play better because how do you tell a $60 million a year player to do less? Need more transition opportunities for him to have the ball in space.

This narrative fucking sucks and it’s not even right.

Jaylen is a great one on one defender. I’m not even going to do my normal thing where I list negatives to make it more palatable for people who obviously will hate no matter what.

EDIT: and to act like Jrue wasn’t a fucking anchor on the neck of the team tonight is hilarious. The dude bricked two free throws in the clutch and was turning the ball over like it was going out of style. If Jaylen did that, this thread would be double the size.
Again, new car smell and all of that

Apologies - its a podcast on Barstool - its their only content I consume - and they used that exact phrase today. I was hoping you heard it and were making their joke. Either way, I thought the post was spot on. Their interpretation aside, you typically use it when a win is a big deal for one side and not even a thought for the other. That's what this game was imo.

He's a good one on one defender only when he wants to be. He was loafing around on defense all night tonight.

The free throws were a big time outlier from the Celtics, considering the guys taking them. Im not too worried about anything from this game. 18 of 28 and most of the misses coming from career >= 80 pct guys.
