They punted possession there toward the end, but I'm really encouraged by that late game neutral and d-zone play. This team can still play defense when they want to.

They pulled him with 3:30 left coming out of the TV timeout. He went back in after Pastrnak’s shot deflected out leading to a D zone draw. I didn’t think Tampa got possession inside out blue line until a minute or so left when he finally did leave.

They got possession immediately after the faceoff and carried it in, but he stayed in net for some reason. Maybe it was a dump in, but either way. Bruins eventually got it back and held it for a bit, but they had the chance immediately and didn't for some reason.

I just went back and rewatched, the Pasta EN shot happened at 3:00. TB won the faceoff, and got it into the B's zone at 2:51 and deep, goalie stayed in net

That was a weird sequence, and this is probably the first time in my life I processed the game better than @cshea. Lol

Speaking of pulling the goalie, the Hurricanes scored 3 times with the goalie pulled in the last 5 minutes to tie the Jets 3-3.

19 games into the season the Bruins have built a 9 point lead in the division (with a game in hand on Toronto).

I don't know what's crazier, the 17-2-0 start or the fact the fucking Devils are right there with them at 16-3-0.

Great game against a tough team. Tampa Bay feels like they run out five versions of Drago every shift.
Even great teams have shitty shitty nights. But a lesser team simply folds against a team like TB after that first 15 minutes. Instead, despite getting thoroughly outplayed, the Bruins did not give up a 2nd goal, didn't commit any frustration/being outplayed penalties while they were being crushed, and eventually got back on track. More than the wins or anything else that's happened so far, *that* was the biggest indication of what this team really is. I thought Debrusk was a great barometer. At some point he just started skating as fast as he could (which is fast) on every single play at both ends because that was what was required to beat TB. They hadn't had a "can't take *any* shifts off" game in a while.

LV, NJ and the Bruins are really lapping their fields.
