We finally had one game thread that was free of criticism of JB.. imagine those of us that really like JB having to read through every other game thread where he's criticized for every time he makes any kind of mistake no matter how well he's playing... and how tiresome that is.

And you had to sit through one whole game thread where the opposite happened.
This is what’s called the double turducken

However, the other posters who pretend like they’re down the middle but continuously make ridiculous posts? Fuck that, I’ll continue to post the way I do until there’s some sort of apology

Los Angeles by way of Roxbury
Preface: I am drunk.

I love this team. They are a matchup nightmare for pretty much every team except maybe (maybe) the Nuggets. Philly needs Maxey to absolutely go off against us, Embiid has an endurance problem. The Bucks blew a crater through their defense for Dame Time.

JB is good at basketball, much to the chagrin of a lot of hot take artists and general curmudgeons.

Jaylen has not had the best start to the season and you are going to get criticism of the player, particularly in game threads. Especially after how last year ended. It happens.

That is different from actively framing it into a turf war of “Jaylen defenders” vs. “Jaylen supporters” and carrying everything over. That’s realistically just a form of trolling.

6 miles from Angel Stadium
I just rewound and rewatched the last 5:45 of the game. C's up 17.

16 point lead with 4:57 left.

Holiday goes to hoop, hammered, no call, quick hoop the other way.

Tatum missed 3, prob got fouled, then stepped on. No call

On the other end, Lopez gets an offensive board, clears out Dwhite with his off arm, knocks him backwards, no call. Easy putback.

Lead down to 10, Lillard allowed to mug White, KP hits a 3 anyway.

Lillard matches

C's up 10 with 2 minutes to go.

KP gets mugged, complains, they call a tech on KP.

Scal argues the tech helped the C's.

KP yanked for Holiday.

C's were playing Horford/KP that stretch.

Tatum splits defenders, gets the dunk, should have been an and one.

Middleton makes a 3

6 point game.

Tatum gets trapped, and the 2nd guy coming over literally ran into him, no call, he gets it to Brown, who gets it to Jrue, who missed the 3.

Dame hits a step back. 3 point game.

Tatum gets absolutely destroyed at the rim, finally, the C's get a call.

Tatum makes 1.

Lillard gets stuffed by the rim.

C's make 2

Last second 3 to make it a 3 point win for the C's.

Bottom line, the comeback was because Holiday missed an open 3, Tatum literally missed the rim on an open 3, refs let the Bucks hack away and Lillard went Damenova for a couple minutes.

Win is a win, nothing to be concerned about from this game. Vegas had it pegged, and the C's should have easily covered.
I honestly don't think officials give a shit who wins. But I am convinced they see themselves as arbiters of making blowouts close. And that was definitely in play tonight. (That T on KP was absolutely ridiculous.)
That being said, it would be nice for the Celts to improve their end of game /end of quarter execution.

Anyway, what we saw from Jaylen tonight is exactly the type of evolution that can go a long way for this team. I can’t remember the last time I saw him moving the ball as well as he did tonight, and his 2 man game with Porzingis could be a game-changer. Defenses have been collapsing on Jaylen for a long time, if he can start using that to get open looks for others and reduce pressure on his own dribble, it changes the entire offense.
If JB can start consistently getting 5-7 assists, he’s a whole different player. I think he’s starting to figure out he can really increase his contribution by being a facilitator. I’ll take 20/6 versus 26/3.

Are you saying I’m trolling? Or the others that ‘defend’ Jaylen? Because I believe teddy framed it as a those that criticize vs those that defend Jaylen dynamic.. he then said it was the defenders that made every game thread unreadable..

I mean.. we had members trying to keep track of when Jaylen wasn’t passed to ffs.. and others theorizing he’s going to be a bad fit/problem etc.. posters are tilting at windmills trying to tell us that JB is a problem for this team.. despite any evidence to the contrary.

The refs absolutely swallowed their whistles (until the final seconds) when the C's had possession.

As my wife often reminds me, and as cross-examiners often point out, not remembering something is not the same as it not happening.

The thing about Kristaps and Jaylen is that when all these defenders start coming at Jaylen trying to force a turnover, KP just kind of comes to the rescue and gives him an outlet. It’s beautiful to watch.
Why is KP the only one who seems able to do that effectively? Arent the other guys on the floor responsible for doing the same? (Making themselves available). Did playing with Luka help him in that regard?

Are you saying I’m trolling?
No no. I’m just saying posts such as “Where are all the Jaylen haters/defenders now” or “Where are all the Mac Jones haters/defenders now” is in a separate category from criticizing or complimenting a player for specific things that happen during a game.

Understood, but it’s really a phrase of expression. The style JB played last night was definitely outside the norm for him, and for the better! If his approach evolves with this roster and this becomes more consistent, the rest of the NBA is screwed.

I made a post in the Raptors game thread saying it was being overdone. These were the exchanges that day and I fully stand by what I said that day. Nobody was seriously criticizing Jaylen in that game and tbb pops up to make it about Jaylen.

damn this team was really good until Jaylen Brown showed up
This is the only non joke post criticizing Jaylen in the game thread. It was one of the first 20 or so posts
Jaylen Brown is responsible for Toronto's floor color
This was obviously a joke.
Maybe Jaylen Brown is the 6th man
This was obviously a joke. I posted this because Hauser was hitting everything in a stretch.
Tatum and White are shooting so poorly that people are going to start downgrading Jaylen Brown for it
This is also obviously a joke, but nobody was blaming Jaylen Brown for anything to this point. It was a complete red herring
Jaylen went 4-7 for 12pts, 3 assists, a board and a block w/ 1 t.o. that half. Some of you don't deserve nice things.
This is the post I quoted and said that the defenders are making more noise than the critics at this point.

So yes, I think everything that has happened since is trolling. It’s a fucking game thread, people are going to talk about what happens in a game. In that game thread I was commenting on Tatum, not Brown, who was ice cold and others were saying the same. But we didn’t have to have an inquisition about it.

My Jaylen Brown slander is 100% sarcasm, hence before the game even started he was at fault for the score and the awful paint color.

He made 2nd team All-NBA. He is good and when/if they trade him there will be NBA teams lining up to make offers for our 27yr old WING that is guaranteed for multiple years

Ok great then there were precisely 0 posts criticizing Jaylen Brown when the other two get made.
